Ryder danced with the girl for some time now, enjoying the time. It was definitely a good city welcome, he had to admit. He leaned down and moved her hair away form the side of her neck before whispering, "Hey, I'm getting a little hot in here. Mind stepping outside with me to get some fresh air?" The girl grinned and nodded her head before she grabbed his hand and walked him through the club, out the back door. Once they were outside in the alley, Ryder pushed himself up on the girl against the wall, already kissing her. He could feel his need to feed, but he was trying his best to ignore it. But... He hasn't fed in awhile, and there aren't any woods nearby to give him a decent deer, or hell, even a squirrel. And the girl smelled so good...
He slowly made a trail of kisses down the side of her face and neck, and his fangs pricked out once more. "Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit," he said, before taking a bite into her throat, while using his ability to set off the human's pleasure nerves rather than pain. Dear god, the girl tasted pretty damn good. Good thing the girl seemed to have enough alcohol in her system to not remember this night.
Ryder suddenly felt himself being pulled away from his feed, and he let out a growl before hitting the wall on the other side of the alley. But when he looked up to face his intruder, his dual-colored eyes met with the eyes of someone he hadn't seen in over a century... He watched in silence as she sent the human off, but remained still. It wasn't until after they were alone in the alley did he finally decide to slowly get up. "I don't know who the hell you're talking about..." he growled, wiping the blood off his mouth. He began to walk down the alley, trying to avoid Leona at all costs. He doesn't need this right now. What the hell is she doing here??
Ryder held back a curse when Leona grabbed him, but just turned his head to look at her as she spoke. "Well, I figured I didn't know much about you at all that night I last saw you," he replied. He shook his arm out of her hold and said, "And I haven't fallen off the wagon, so to speak. You don't see any dead bodies, do you? Think that's pretty good in my book, don't you think?" He knows that isn't going to sit well with Leona. Wouldn't be surprised if he took a hit from the woman. His mind instantly went back to when they first met. It was actually much like how they are now. Except there weren't old and painful feelings involved... He turned his head away and let out a sigh. "The hell do you want?" Yeah, he was super excited to see the vampiress again.
Ryder bit back a reply to Leona's comment about him leaving. He really didn't want to open that can of worms. "Heard good things about this city. Decided to move in. And since when the hell did it become your town?" His mind then registered what just occurred. "Oh wow, you're a bellator, aren't you? And knowing you're bossy personality, hundred bucks tells me that you're in charge too..." He let out a laugh and shook his head. "Just my damn luck." He then looked up at Leona, as something new went through his head. "Why do you want me to leave?" The human blood running through his system was already affecting him, making his moods and emotions very quick and shifting. He turned to face Leona completely, walking towards her slowly. "Why, Leona? Worried I'll be too much trouble for you to handle? Or maybe..." He stopped when they both met with the alley wall. "Maybe you don't want someone to find out about me... About us..." He smirked at her as his face was close to hers.
Ryder couldn't help but smile when Leona said his old name. He hadn't heard that in quite some time. Almost everyone he's met know him as Ryder. "I'm not to sure about that, Leona... Carpe Noctum seems like a fun town to me. A good place to stir up some trouble. And you know me, I love me some trouble..." He looked down at Leona's hand on his chest. Yeah, she was trying so hard to push him away. His eyes then registered exactly what she was wearing. "Now this is new... Bet you wish you had this in the nineteenth century, eh?" His eyes looked straight to Leona's as he whispered, "Vous n'avez pas changé..." He could see it in her eyes. Besides, Leona's to stubborn to be any different.
*Forgive my French if it's horrible. Had to use Google translate, and not fluent in the language. Eh heh...*
Ryder leaned back when Leona's words rang through his head, changing his mood completely. "What... You went through? Really??" He pulled back away from her and began to give a sarcastic laugh. "Oh you're a funny one, you know that?" he asked, looking at her. "Last time I checked, I was the one who went on a limb, pouring my heart out, asking you to be with me for eternity, but you turned me down like I was trash. As if the time you and I spent together was wasted. So why should I have stuck around?" How dare this woman claim he was the one at fault here? He felt those painful emotions coming back, and he shoved them down quick and hard, a lot easier to do thanks to the human blood.
Ryder raked his fingers through his hair, unsure of what to do right now. He had finally had all those memories and feelings locked away for good, yet just one meeting had cracked those chains. Not how he planned to spend his night at all...
Ryder's facial expression grew with confusion as Leona spoke. That couldn't be it... That's not how he remembered it at all. He had the memory clear as day in his mind. But then he heard the tears in Leona's voice, something had to be true in her words. And he couldn't lie and say hearing her upset didn't bother him. "Well, believe me when I say that I haven't exactly opened up to any women over time, since then." Now, he's been with quite the handful of ladies, there's no lie in that, but those were just one nighters or quick flings, something that never lasted too long. Why let it grow to only be rejected once more? "What do you want me to do, Leona? Apologize?"
Ryder didn't move a muscle as Leona came over to him and touched his cheek. A part of him wanted to smack her hand away, while the other craved for more of her touch. He listened to her speak about her dream, that maybe he would come back. "Trust me, on many days I wanted to," he answered. "But I either persuaded myself not to, or when I caved, you were impossible to find. You and your brother knew how to cover your tracks well." His hand came up and wiped away the tear streaks on her cheek, his hand lingering there. He wasn't sure why, whether it was the blood affecting him, or the emotions just all coming out at once, but suddenly he grabbed her close and kissed her. Ryder had no idea she was married, or had kids. All he knew was, was that he missed Leona more than he let on.
Ryder took a step back after Leona pushed him back. Honestly, he expected that. Actually, he wasn't surprised the woman hadn't thrown in a slap or hit of sorts. But what she said afterwards sent a pain through his chest. "Wow..." he breathed, shaking his head. "You say you couldn't marry me, but you could marry someone else. Must be one hell of a guy, I must say, to tame a lion's heart like such. Next, you're gonna tell me that you have a big family, with kids and a lovely home, right?" She didn't have to say anything though, cause he could see it in her eyes. Ryder couldn't help but laugh over the whole situation. He couldn't believe all of this.
He started to head off toward his bike, before stopping and turning back around. "You know, say what you will about your husband and your life now. I believe it. But don't lie to me and say you've moved on completely. That kiss says otherwise." Cause if she had truly moved on, fully, she wouldn't have kissed back. "But hey, it's your life right? You do your thing, and I'll do mine. Don't worry, I'll be sure to stay out of your married life." This was Ryder closing up. He was done with emotions tonight.
Ryder didn't move or say anything as Leona grabbed him and spoke. Might as well let her get the words off of her chest. When she was done, he let out a sigh. "You're right, Leona. People do change... You decided to tie the knot, and me, well, I plan to not fall for another again. The whole closing up thing actually really does wonders for a person. I can see why a lot of vampires do it. Cause having pain for an eternity sucks, and I'm just not up for that." He grabbed Leona's hand, but rather than shove away, he lifted it to kiss her knuckles. "Have a happy life, Leona. You deserve it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a penthouse to unpack. Not to mention, I have a feeling your neglecting your Bellator duties." He stepped over to his bike and sat down, putting on his helmet. Oh and don't worry, Ryder thought, sending his thoughts to her. I won't leave too much trouble for you and your boys to clean up. And he wasn't necessarily talking about the possibility of feeding on humans again either. And before anything else could be said, Ryder took off, like a bat out of hell.
Memo: Sorry, couldn't think of anything else for him to stay for. She could follow him, or we could finish this thread and start a new one whenever. ^_^
