zack was running in the forest. the moon was full. But to his annoyance he was being chased by another vampire, he didn’t know what it was though he only thought it was another human like himself. He jumped to a tree to escape he then had an idea. his insanity had slightly taken over. Her felt the flight or fight instinct rise, and it was telling him he needed to fight. The air was cold around him on the inside he was scared and strangely felt extremely alive from the adrenaline. He got his fishing line out of his pocket and formed it into a noose. when the vampire ran under the branch he was on zack through the noose on the vampire was but before the vampire had enough time to react it had the noose around its neck. Zacharias jumped to the ground lifting the vampire into the air and breaking its neck. Zacharias was breathing heavily and fast his eyes dilated, obviously he was mostly acting on instinct. He hesitated and slight shivered as he attempted to touch the hand of the vampire, when he touched it felt extremely cold, zack was shocked by the fact and backed away, he always believed the it took a lot longer for dead things to lose all their heat, intuition the scientific type, had him cut the line dropping the vampire to the ground. Zack did not know it was still alive. He got out his scalpel and started to dissect it slowly. He soon saw that the heart was small as if it had not been beating for an extremely long time. His eyes grew wide with a form of fear when he realized it was not human. He stood up and turned his head as if he was scared of something beyond his sight. If this thing was not human then what else was out there that was after him?

Raker had not been in town many hours in fact, he hadn't been to town yet. The first place he had gone to was the forest, mainly searching for a place to crash for the night or while he was there. A cottage of some sort, sure he knew that some of the members of the Moon Circle lived somewhere in the forest, then he liked his privacy, besides he wasn't sure if he could walk up and down that cute little human girl that was Aya's apprentice. As always he was smoking a cigarette, although he was pretty sure it wasn't aloud in a wooded area, but he could care less. It wasn't until he scented a human, magical no less that made him come to a halt. He sniffed the air and started to head in the direction of the human.

He came to a halt by a large tree, in other words he had ended up walking up on the kid from the behind, looking to the kid's back. Tilting his head as he noticed the vampire on the ground with what looked like he was in the middle of a heart surgery. A dark chuckle escaped his throat as he stood there with the cigarette in the corner of his mouth and his arms crossed.

Zack looked back at the vampire, he knelt down again he had another idea on how to find out more about what it was. He was going to remove the heart and perform an experiment once he got home, the heart seemed it had been dead for a long time, a little longer shouldn’t matter. He was about remove the heart with his hand, when he gripped it he heard a dark chuckle. He quickly jumped away from where the sound originated. He was holding the heart in is left hand and the scalpel in his right. Zack had a serious look and kept his guard , just because he was insane did not mean he was not cautious. “what so funny? he asked as he looked down to the vampires body and back to the man. For some reason he felt a killer instinct come over him.

Raker didn't say anything right away, but simply stared at the kid with a dark smirk. "No' every day ye see a kid do open 'eart surgery," he said in his usual thick Irish accent after he had taken a deep inhalation of his cigarette. He put the bud out against the tree trunk he had been leaning up against before he flicked it to the ground. "Ye kno' ye've just permanently paralysed the poor bloke," he said and nodded to the vampire lying on the ground. Not that Raker cared much for vampires, they were too cold for his taste and well then they had a strange smell of death around them, well at least according to him.

Zack looked back down at the thing on the ground he though was dead. When he heard the word paralyze meaning the man was still alive. Zack thought about it for a moment. A creature if it was still alive with out a heart that would mean the brain was still working meaning he could experiment on the brain while its still working, the scientific part of him which was partially insane wanted to remove the brain as well. He looked back to the man “most people would scream and run away, why not you? He tried to hunt me down and treat me like prey to satisfy his hunger, in the end my hunger for knowledge defeated his for satisfaction. Any way when you have been kidnapped as much times I have you find learning how to use sharp equipment is useful as for the ability to dissect, its not the first time I have opened up something to learn what was inside. Its easier to understand how something works by taking a peek inside. Its not every day I stumble upon a walking creature without a heart that beats.” he said remembering how he would be forced to watch autopsies when he was a child and dissected creatures like frogs and lizards. before he stared at the vampires head, at the moment he really wanted to see what was in its brain it could be partly seen in his eyes, he wanted to see how it ticked, there was mostly insanity seen in his eyes. he looked back up to the man, he was so familiar. he could sense a form of atraction to the dark ness that surrounded the man, no the mystery, the fact he couldn't understand wanted him to learn more about the man.

Raker simply stared at the kid for a while without saying anything, he didn't even move. He simply stood there leaning up against the tree. "Well maybe it's because I'm not like most people," he said, tilting his head a little. The kid fascinated him, but so far Raker hadn't made his mind if he should just kill the boy and eat him, turn him or actually let the boy go. Of course it depended on the boy, if he tried to do anything foolish. Raker wasn't about to let a prey disappear, but so far he hadn't quite made his mind up yet.

Zack looked down at the vampire and back to the man again. “why don’t I want to kill him, everyone’s a threat so why not him?” he thought himself. Once again he looked at the vampire. If he knew that he going to come across such a specimen he would have brought some equipment to open up the cranium and look at the brain. “ I have to admit these things have been stalking me before and I have been helpless to them in the past but It felt nice having some power over my life again. with everything trying to kill me some closure felt good“ he said as he took another step . he made a slight smile when he finally saw that the man was impossible to read, it was ironic he could analyze peoples actions in the past but when it truly matters he had no clue. “you know, you are the first person I couldn’t read, but the funny part is that this is probably the time where it matters the most.” He said as he hid his scalpel. “I need to get stronger to fend people off like this I need to get stronger” he thought to himself.

Raker let out a slight laugh when the kid said he couldn't read him. "Well, I am a walking mystery.....A great way to get the ladies," he said and gave the kid a wink. "But somethin' tells me that ye could have handled that guy in a better way. First of all, if he's been chasing ye, it couldn't have been far, unless ye're faster than most. And if ye're faster, then me guess is that ye're stronger as well," he said, he could literally smell the kid was magical, which meant he had to have some sort of ability or two and no one would last long against a vampire unless they had some speed or strength for that matter.

Zack just couldn’t catch a read on the guy, when the man winked toward him he felt a form of humor. He couldn’t believe he was going to have a conversation on the best way to kill a corpse. He closed his eyes and nodded his head sideways he opened his eyes and looked back at the man he crossed his arms finding this moment unrealistic. “so what do you suggest next time I meet a few walking corpses?” he stated. Okay zack was actually starting t like the guy, most people would just call him a freak even if he was not doing anything sadistic. Zack got his mind back into the correct view. Was this man friend or foe. Zack actually wanted hope for friend, even though zack was unable to trust most people. “so are you going to kill me or teach me?” he asked with the same tone as before. He still had his scalpel if the answer was kill. He first felt the intention to kill but now that the man was giving him advice he was confused emotionally, not that he hated it.

Raker shrugged his shoulders a little, when the kid asked what he should do next time a couple of vampires came after him. "Chop their heads off, it usually does the trick," he said and found his pack of cigarettes and found another one and stuffed it into his mouth and lit it. He took a deep inhalation as he put his pack away again. But as the kid asked if Raker was going to kill him, he looked over at the blond boy with a blank expression. "Haven't quite decided yet," he said, smoke coming out through his mouth as he spoke.

Zack was really pondering on his life. “my family hates me, I was probably sent here to die, if I die I will l never accomplish my goals. If I even do make it out of here past him, I will surely keep on being attacked and in this state. I must make it to the starry field. If I can get a hold of his lighter I can start a fire and use it as a distraction to escape. The man in front of me is obviously more knowledge able about killing the monsters who are pursuing me. I must do whatever it takes to accomplish my goal.” He thought to himself.

He soon reopened his eyes there was a determined look as he walked over to the man. He knelt down and placed his hand over where his heart was. “I have no idea of what is true around me and it is basicly fact that even if left this forest alive those things from before will most likely kill me, I have no idea of what I can do or of the world around me anymore, all I know any more is that there is something I must do and I am willing to do anything and to destroy anything to accomplish it, even but in order to do that I need to know more about what’s around me, and it’s obvious you know more than me….so please teach me please, I will do anything you ask in return.” He said with his eyes closed he then reopened them. “if you decide to kill me then please make it the most painful thing anyone can experience. Day into night, sugar into salt, living to dead, and dark blue into gold my name is Zacharias Grimm” he stated with resolve. If zack was going to die he was going to want his final moments be the ones where he could carve his emotions and pain into his soul. He was expecting the man to decide to kill him honestly. He felt some hope within him. the magic around him was now resonating far more than before. He had a determined look but was also submissive at the same time.

Now that had to be the first, someone kneeling before him as if he was some god. He couldn't help but let out a loud laugh. "Are you really sure about this? zack kept looking at the ground. He listened to the words spoken to him. there was one person who he could never think of hurting. He did not think that there would be any probability that she would be mixed. With any of this so he saw no danger. If reaching his goals meant he was going to belong to someone for a while, it was worth it. “I will do whatever it takes to accomplish my goal, Yes I will do whatever you ask, I will accept the consequences and change all the weakness they create into strengths. You don’t need to worry about my family they don’t really see me, let alone care where I am, my father probably sent me here expecting those walking corpses to get me and kill me.” He said sternly and determined. He felt like he was making a contract with a demon. He knew that this man was not a good guy, but for some reason he could not help but want to be around him, there was really something familiar. He then lifted his head to really face the man in the eyes. “so how is this going to work? am I going to follow you around or do I find a place to stay and visit you and do you wish for me to stay in school?“ he asked. Zack was not going top ask for a name , if the man did not want him to know it it was alright with him.

Zack listened to the man speak about a job offer. The deal sounded pretty good and sweet, it saved time for school and he would not be able to be traced by his parents with his credit card if he ha his own cash. Zack needed a a after school job this one sounded perfect for a schedule. He made a smile “sir that sounds like an excellent offer, when can I start?”. he said excitement detectable in his tone.Sure this meant even more time would be donated to raker but zack did not see too many bad assets in that fact it seemed like a good thing to him being around that man and doing stuff for him actually seemed nice in Zack’s head, also working for a nightclub may not be so boring as well, this night was getting more exciting by the minute. It was a really good deal.
