long forgotten cloistered sleep (open) - Posted By Hope estheim (hope) on 21st Jan 12 at 12:36am
Hope was searching through the forest for some place to sleep, with nowhere to return to he was searching the wilderness for sanctuary the thick of the forest was where he currently was the leaf less trees all around him. It was snowing and -8 degrees Celsius and the moon was full. Hope had been walking for many hours trudging through the snow. There were tear stains on his cheeks. He was still wearing the thin funeral clothes and carrying his back pack. He actually was close to having a case of hypothermia, his mind was confused. He was still walking till he got to the point where he tripped over a tree root. He just decided to sleep where he landed. He rolled onto his side and closed his eyes.

Deciding to go for a walk outside since everybody had calmed down and all, she made sure she was discrete in closing the front door behind her. Lately, her father had really been out of sorts. All because the family was under a threat, and it was tipping him over the edge. She could understand, but it made her upset to see her dad like this for the first time ever pretty much. Shuffling her way through the snow in a lazy fashion, she ended up stumbling across somebody in the snow, she had almost tripped over them. Letting out a large breath of air, she knelt down and tapped him a bit. "Hello?" Grace touched his extra cold face and attempted to wake him up.

Hope was still on the ground he was shivering from hypothermia. He heard a voice but his mind was confused from the cold and hypothermia so he could not understand what she was saying. His heart rate was slower than what it should be, he was really pale. His body was in a state where he could hardly do anything but shiver, this is why people were usually told to not go to sleep in snow. There were tears slowly running from his closed eyelids. His mind was not working well at the moment due to the hypothermia.

Seeing that he was too cold to even do anything or show any signs that he could understand what she was saying, she dragged him off to an area where it wasn't snowing, or rather, the snow couldn't land. It was like a little cave, only shrubbery style. It was too far to drag him all the way back to her house. And plus, she wouldn't have a chance with getting him into the house without making a great deal of noise, which would wake up her parents probably, and she would most likely get in trouble for wondering off. But if she hadn't wondered off, this young man would surely perish in the snow. Taking off her jacket, she wrapped it around him and placed her warm hands on his cheeks. He was clearly suffering from hypothermia.

Hope soon felt his body get slightly warmer, the fact that werewolves had a higher than average blood temperature speed up the process since grace was using her hands to warm him up. He was starting to breathe better his heart rate started to rise to its usual point. After about ten minutes he started to open his eyes again slightly. He saw the girl in front of him. “I’m sorry” he whispered out it was hard for him to speak. He started to move again he started wiping his tears away .

After 10 minutes or so, she was convinced that the boy had started to warm up again, which was great, because he if died right there and then, she wouldn't know what to do. When he opened his eyes a bit. Grace heard him apologise. She had no idea why he would need to do that. "Shhh." She ruffed up his hair a bit and started to tap his arms and such. Grace noticed that he had tears dripping down his face, so she helped get rid of them. "It's okay. What are you saying sorry for?" She attempted to get him even warmer than he was so that he could sit up. Grace also attempted to move him around a bit so that he would get used to moving a bit quicker.

hope was soon able to talk. “you dragged me in here to help me but you would have not need to if was not so weak against nature” he said as part of his apology. Blaming himself was always one of hopes problems he would usually blame himself for every thing, he even blames himself for his moms car wreck which killed her, if he did not ask her to come home early…. He soon tried to open his eyes a little more but they seemed to be sore. “thank you for saving me” he said as he tried to get up he heard a felt a large amount of sore and soon came back to being in his original position. He kept on trying to get up and kept failing. He was not yet healed from the hypothermia completely.

When he explained why he had apologised, she rolled her eyes a bit. "It wasn't a problem, not one bit, so don't worry about it." She smiled. When he attempted to change his position, he failed, multiple times. "Just relax." Grace adjusted his position for him so he was leaning up against a tough-ish wall of shrubs. "How did you end up out here, on the ground and almost freezing to death in the snow?" She asked. What on Earth had he been doing? Grace took up his hands in hers. Hands were most likely to prevent him from warming up completely, they are a very vulnerable part of the body in the cold like this if not covered up like the rest.

hope was now placed against the walls he was now breathing deeply in and out trying to fix up his lungs. He heard grace speak but he was still clearing his lungs. He started to think of a way of explaining it. [colors=3366ff]“well I have nowhere to go, moms dead and dad disowned me and not to many people in town are willing to look at me. Religious stuff it surprising how people can judge you by a religious point, I am not even able to visit my mom’s grave”[/color] he stated and started to notice her hand were warm. “my name …is hope esteem I am grateful for meeting you .” he stated trying to be as polite as he could but he was still not speaking clearly as he normally could. He actually stated his last name incorrectly by mistake but his excuse is that his insides were almost frozen a few moments ago.

When he attempted to explain what he had been doing and said that he had been disowned and such, and that he has nowhere to go, a sad expression formed on her face. What was it with the disowned people in this town? And when he claimed that his name was Hope Esteem, she thinned out her lips. Since he struggled to speak still, he probably wasn't speaking correctly. "Well it's nice to meet you too but, I'm really sorry for your losses..If there is anything else I can do to help, let me know. Okay?" Grace said. For some reason, she already felt like Hope was a friend, and so, she embraced him, he was still shivering.

Hope found himself shivering but also slightly surprised when she embraced him. Not too many were kind too him lately so this was to a surprise he wasn’t really expecting to make a friend out here. He just remembered school, he was so distracted by his moms death that he forgot completely about his education. If he actually wen their and was found he would be taken into a orphanage, he did not want that to be in such a place where his past actions would be able to be used to blame him for present situations. Hope wondered who this girls name was . “I wouldn’t mind knowing your name” he said shivering.

When she pulled away she nodded when he said that he wouldn't mind knowing her name. "Oh..Sorry..." She slightly smiled. "My name is Grace." She said to him, then sat in a comfortable position, brushing away some stray twigs sticking out. Grace watched as it snowed. She really didn't know what to do about him. He seemed like he had pretty much lost everybody and everything that had been important to him. Grace felt guilty for having such a lovely life and family compared to other people. She really didn't know what to say now, in fact, she was a little concerned as to what was going to happen with all this. Where on Earth was he going to stay? She couldn't just leave him after he had gotten better.

hope wondered something he actually made a smile when he heard her name. “grace…..that’s a nice name” he said before he looked at the snow. The full moon was going down which meant the sun was going to rise soon. “If I wait here will you come back here tomorrow at a similar time?” he asked wanting to see her again soon. He finally found a friend so he did not want to lose it like how he did the others. It had only been a short time and he already grew to befriend grace and grew and affinity for her in a way. “you’ll come back right?” he asked there was slight sense of fear in his tone as he asked he final question

When he asked if she would come back to see him tomorrow at a similar time, she paused for a moment. Grace wasn't thinking that he would want to be seeing her again this soon, but, she wasn't going to complain. "Well, of course I will. There is no way I wouldn't." Grace admitted. "But, you're willing to wait here, for that long?" She asked with raised eyebrows. Grace nodded frantically at Hope's last question. "But don't worry, I'll stay with you a little longer." She said. Grace found it really strange that he was willing to just wait for basically an entire day for her to return. "You know, you don't have to wait for that long, I could come back earlier than that." Grace admitted to Hope.

Hope nodded his head side ways, “I won’t stay here all day I will spend part of it looking for fire wood, and doing other stuff to keep myself alive, and make life comfortable as I can make it” he stated kindly trying to reassure there was nothing for her to worry about he just needed someone to talk to at the end of the day. “honestly the only things this forest can’t provide me are friends and a bed.” he said with optimism. He was just going to have to wait for the snow to clear up. “I will roam the forest too, it is not all bad” he said trying to reassure she could leave if she wanted.

Grace still had an unsure look on her face when he explained what he was going to be doing. "Unfortunately, no story that I could make up would work if I attempted to bring you into my house. My parents wouldn't approve, well, especially my dad, things are a little difficult lately and he's just wanting us all to stay inside until it's all over." Grace said to him. "I could get in really big trouble being out here." She admitted. "But don't worry, you have just gained a new friend, and new hope I'm sure." Of course, if he really didn't want to stay outside, Grace would find a way to get him into the house, but since he seemed fine to just stay outside, she was going to leave it that way, but she still felt bad about it. "I'll bring stuff to you. Don't you worry." She nodded with a hopeful expression. "Anything you want or need, let me know." Grace added.

Hope looked at her wide eyed would she really be this kin. He then looked out at the snow a smiled then formed. “I have a feeling as the sun rises so will my luck along with, I will grow a god life out of this pitiful one just wait and see.” He seemed to have gained a new sense of hope. “you don’t need to bring me anything, I think I can find something on my own for where I can sleep, what I really need now is a job I guess.” He said . he then looked back to grace “thank you for everything and caring grace” he said with optimism. “I wonder if I could maybe build myself a home or if get a job maybe find a room in a motel” he started to say again as he looked outside.

"That's good, positive energy will get you anywhere that you want, just don't give up." She advised with a warm smile. When he said that she didn't need to bring him anything, she sighed and glanced to the side for a moment. "Well, if it's what you want..." She nodded then looked back to him. "Well, I'm sure I could get you a job somehow at the equestrian centre, maybe, if you aren't afraid of horses and the like." Grace said. "But it won't be straight away, I can tell you that." She added. It may be a little difficult for her to do, but she would eventually be able to get him a job, maybe. "It wasn't a problem Hope, I am happy to help." Grace said before getting ready to leave in order to trek back to her house.
