Tom parked his truck on the parking lot outside the bowling arcade. It was pool night and spending time with the guys. He was a bit early, but apparently he wasn't the only one who had planned a guys night out. The bowling arcade was already filled with people, he thought it would be best to get a pool table before they all disappeared, so he headed towards the pool hall.
And right he was, there was only two tables left, so he headed straight for a pool table and started to set it up, for when the others came. It was nice to have an evening without work, so he had looked forward to this evening all week. Now all he missed was for the others to show up.

Liv had gone to the bowling arcade to look for a little fun and she had wound up in the pool hall shooting pool with a couple of strangers. She was just finishing a game when a fresh scent reached her. Liv looked up from the table and her eyes followed the man to an empty pool table. Looking to the man she had been playing she smiled, "This will end the game John." she said before grabbing her stick and sinking her last three balls in the pockets "Eight ball, top right pocket." she called before lining up the shot and making it in. She gave John a smile before putting her stick down and moving towards the table where the stranger was setting up a game. "Are you any good?" she asked him as she leaned against the table on the opposite end of him. She didn't know what else to say but she knew she wanted to talk to the man.....she didn't know why though.

Tom looked up when he heard a female voice close by, then he looked around to make sure it was him she talked to.
"I'm okay, I guess," Tom said, he wasn't used for women to come up and talk to him, so he felt like a cat had caught his tongue.
"Do you want to take a round, my friends haven't come yet," Tom asked and walked over to the wall and took a cue. He hadn't played for what felt like ages, so he could use to brush off his game before the guys appeared, he didn't want to look like someone who didn't know how to have fun anymore, but the last year had been quite hard for him after the divorce from Michelle and he had pretty much buried himself in work, but when his oldest and closest friend called asking him for a guys night out he couldn't say no, firstly because he hadn't seen Alex for ages, secondly because Tom was pretty new in town and at least he knew two people in town.

Alex had called his old friend Tom, when he had heard he had come to Carpe Noctum. Sure it was to see his old friend, but he also hoped he could get Tom to do him a small favour for old times sake, so he had invited Tom for a game of pool with him and Brody. Although Tom was Alex' friend and not so much Brody's they still knew each other, so Alex couldn't see the harm, besides he wanted to spend some proper boys night out thing.
Alex found a parking spot outside the Bowling Arcade and he and Brody walked inside, they headed for the pool hall and quickly located Tom who was talking to a woman. Alex could right away see it was a werewolf, none the less he and Brody walked over to the pool table.
"Hey Tom," Alex said and they did their special handshake, then he turned towards the woman.
"Who's your friend?" Alex asked Tom as he looked at the woman, he had never seen her before, but then again Carpe Noctum was filled with werewolves he had never met.

"Oh I'm not his friend, not yet anyways." she answered gibing the stranger a small smile. "The name is Liv by the way. How about I buy ya'll all a round of beer before leaving ya'll to do ya'lls thing." she offered. She figured they were meeting to have a guys night out so she wasn't going to intrude. She ordered them a round and when it arrived she took her beer and smiled to the three guys. "It was a pleasure meeting you Tom, we shall have to have a game of pool some other time." she said before she started to walk away back to her pool table from earlier where there was a game going on. She glanced back, looking past the two werewolves at the human for a couple of seconds before returning her attention to the table.

When he heard Alex' voice he looked away from the woman and saw his old friend who hadn't change a bit since he last saw him.
"Alex my man, it's been a long time," Tom said as they did their special greeting. Then he gave Brody the hand and a friendly smile
"And you look bigger than ever, what one earth are you eating?" Tom asked with a chuckle, he hadn't seen Brody since he was a scrawny 13 year old.
Then he moved his attention back to the woman who introduced herself as Liv and when she said they would have that game of pool another time, he felt like such a moron when he started to speak.
"Eh sure thing, another time," he managed to say as he looked after the woman. Then he looked back at Alex.
"What?" he asked and took a sip of the beer that Liv had gotten for them.

Alex couldn't help but follow Tom's gaze as the female werewolf left them, he made a slight huff sound and soon after Tom turned his head towards Alex, when Tom asked what, Alex simply shook his head.
"Nothing Tom, I'm sure she's a nice girl and all, just be careful okay," Alex said as his eyes fell on the female werewolf again, Tom didn't know about the existence of vampires and werewolves, well Alex had tried to tell him shortly after Alex turned, but Tom had thought it was a joke, so Alex had dropped it again. To this day Tom still didn't know that Alex was a werewolf or that Brody was for that matter.
"So let's play shall we?" Alex said and walked over to grab to cues one for Brody and one for himself.
"Let's see if you still can remember how to hit the balls," Alex said and sent Tom a teasing smile.

Liv took off her jacket and drapped it over the back of a chair. Grabbing her beer she looked over to where Tom was for just a second before returning her attention to the current game that was about to end. The man sunk the eight ball easily and Liv grabbed the pool stick from the loser "Let me show you how to really play." she told him with a smile before handing him her drink. "Rack up the balls, I'll break." she said. Liv lined up the cue ball and broke easily, a striped and solid ball went in. "I will go with solids." Liv shot again but didn't make anything in. Grabbing her drink she took a sip and waited till her next turn, sparing a glance towards the last table.

Tom made the break and it was clear that he knew what he was doing, but after the second go he missed. He didn't know why but he looked towards the table where the woman stood, he couldn't help but send her a smile before he turned his attention back to his own table where it was Alex' turn.
"I was surprised that you called, glad but still surprised," Tom said and looked at his friend shooting a ball in one of the holes. Tom took a seat on a stool so he had a look out towards the table where Liv was standing.
"So what's been up with you two?" Tom asked and moved his attention from Alex to Brody who hadn't been that talkative so far.

Brody hadn't been the most chatty so far, he had said hello and given Tom a smile when they shook hands, but other than that he had been unusually quiet.
"Well we thought you might not know that many people in town yet and well I've lived here for two year and Alex here almost a year, so we know our ways around here," Brody said and took a sip of his beer, he glanced over towards the female werewolf, not that he was the same player as Alex had been then he thought she was pretty and if he hadn't had a girlfriend she had been interesting to him, but he was a one woman kinda guy.
"I'm running a magazine here in town and Alex is working for me. Who would have thought that Alex would be working for his kid brother right?" Brody said and sent Tom a big grin and after that one to Alex as well.
"So why on earth have you come to this place. Wasn't New York as exiting as it should be or what?" Brody asked and follow Alex as he put one ball after the other in the holes, he was starting to fear that he wouldn't get the chance.

Liv blushed slightly when Tom smiled at her, it made her look away and focus on the game. When it was her turn she drank some beer and looked at how the balls were set, this game was too easy but she didn't want to hurt any feelings by ending it now. Liv made three in before missing on purpose. She fought the urge to look back at the three guys. there was something about Tom that fascinated her even though she hardly knew him. Liv pulled on a strand of hair and twirled it around her finger. It was hard to hide the fact that she was growing bored, she needed something to spice up the night.

Alex pretty quickly finished the game by putting the last ball in the hole.
"Ha...awww Brody I'm sorry, didn't you get to shoot," Alex said and looked like he felt sorry for his brother, which he wasn't.
"Okay let's get the stakes on the table. We seriously need a four man here. Brody and me against you and well who ever you can find who dares to loose," Alex said with a big grin on his face.
"So are you up for the challenge or have you forgotten how real pool is played," Alex asked as he looked over at his best friend. They had always been competing, both Brody and Alex had taught how to play pool by their father and they were pretty good at it, but so was Tom.

Tom looked over at Alex for a second as if he had to think about it.
"How much are we talking about here?" Tom asked, the problem was, he hadn't brought that much money with him, not to mention he needed a partner. He looked over the room to see if there were anyone free, then his eyes fell on that woman who had approached him earlier. He would so hear for this later on, but right now he didn't care, when Alex made a bet then Tom pretty quickly jumped on the wagon, especially if they were against each other.
"If I can get her with me, then I'm game pal," Tom said and walked over to Alex and they shook on it. Then he walked over to Liv.
"Hi, sorry to bother you, I know you're in a middle of a game, but when you're done, would you be interested in helping a poor guy out?" Tom said and glanced back at the two brothers before he turned his attention back to live.
"You see I'm in desperate need of a partner, since those two goons have been so stupid to bet some money on the game. We split 50/50, what do you say. Interested in winning some money?" Tom asked and sent the girl a smile. He had watched her play without her noticing it and he was pretty sure that she had missed a hole or two on purpose, but she wouldn't have to here.

Liv was just about to finish the game when she heard a voice behind her. A smile appeared as she stood up and looked at Tom, glancing at the table where Brody and Alex stood. "I guess I could help a handsome man just this once." she said. Then she turned back to the table, made her shot then moved so she could finish the game. Calling the pocket she sunk the eight ball, winning the game. "50/50.....sounds good." she said as she pushed a strand of hair back and tucked it behind her ear. She headed over to Tom's table with him, sending Brody and Alex a smile. "Hello again boys. How much are we laying down?" she asked as she reached into her back pocket and pulled out some cash, she had a good amount on her. You could say that she hustled some people out of their money earlier tonight at the tables, she didn't think of it as hustling though. She had just found something she was good at and used it to her advantage.

"Well shall we start out easy and say 100 bucks each?" Brody asked and looked at the three others to see if they were up for that amount.
"Ladies first," Brody said and made a gesture to the table where everything was set for the game to begin. It wasn't really because he was a gentleman, well he was, but he knew that Alex would like to see how this woman played.
"CAN WE HAVE A ROUND OF BEER OVER HERE!" Brody yelled to a waiter he saw bringing beer to a table. The waiter nodded and dissapeared.

Liv pulled out a 100 dollar bill and set it on the side of the table and grabbed her pool stick. She placed the cue ball where it needed to be and lined her stick up with it. She put a good amount of force into the swing of it so she would be able to break the triangle decently. Liv wasn't ready to use her true skills at the very beginning of the game. A solid ball fell into a pocket and she looked at the table, unfortunately there were no good openings to make another in. Liv stood up straight and looked at the situation, letting out a huff of air before making a shot that she missed completely. The bartender arrived with the beer and she grabbed her glass, taking a sip. "Show me what you got boys." she said with a smile.

Alex had found hundred bucks as well and placed it on top of the one that Liv had placed before he watched Liv break the balls. He stood with a thoughtful expression on his face and when she missed the next he turned his glance to Brody.
"Well as you said, Brody. Ladies first," Alex said and made a gesture to the table that Brody should continue, he knew that Brody hated to be called a woman, but hey if you can't tease your kid brother a little then what's the point of having one, right? Alex chuckled a little as he stood and watched Brody as he prepared to make his shot.

Brody sent his brother a pair of killer eyes when Alex started referring Brody as a lady.
"Haha, very funny. You better watch it or I stick this in you where the sun never shines," Brody said and raised his pool stick, then he took a sip of his beer and walked over to the table, seeing if there was any openings he could use. There was a pretty daring move he could pull off, but he didn't want to show what exactly he's capable of just yet, well Alex would have seen it and probably Tom as well, but he didn't know just how good this woman was and he wasn't prepared to loose his money.
Brody got ready to make the shot and he did hit a ball but it wasn't even near getting in the hole, instead it hit some of the other balls so the game changed completely.
"Tom," Brody said and walked over to Alex and sent him a slight smirk before he turned his attention to Tom.

Tom had been watching first Liv then Brody and he raised an eyebrow when he saw Brody make the shot that he did, but as Brody said his name he shrugged his shoulders and went to the table to take in the current situation. He scratched his chin a little before he took a shot. He made a swift little shot that hit two balls, one of them went in and the other didn't, but if he could hit it with the cue ball it sure would get in. He had to play this smart as it was in a difficult position. He aimed and hit the cue ball with just the right amount of speed so it hit the ball and went in and the cue ball hit the side of the table and back in towards the middle.
"Okay," Tom said as he looked at the situation now.
"Let's see if this will work," he said, he had a tendency to think out loud or talk to himself when he was thinking. He aimed and took a shot at the white ball that hit several balls, but none of them going in, he shrugged his shoulders, he had to try.
"Okay big shot, let's see what you've got," Tom said and looked over at Alex.

Liv had chuckled when Alex called Brody a lady. She watched Brody carefully and she looked at the arrangement on the table. Liv hadn't missed him passing up the daring shot and her eyebrow rose slightly as he took a shot that changed everything. When it was Tom's turn she stepped back, he made two balls in putting them in the lead but not by much if Alex played right. She felt like Brody had been holding back from his real pool skills just like she was doing. "Let's see what you really got Alex...or are you just going to hold back like Brody." she said with a small smirk.

Alex sent Liv a mischievous smirk as he walked over to the table and looked at his options.
"Don't you worry, I'm like a nuclear bomb going off when I'm playing," Alex said and sent Liv a smile, then he leaned down and aimed and made a very aggressive shot that at once place three balls into the pockets and making the others fly wild about on the table. The cue ball wasn't in a very good position, but if he hit the ball towards the rail so it would change direction he had an opportunity to get another ball in the pocket, so once again he aimed and again sent an aggressive shot towards the side of the table, the ball flew back towards a ball and it went into the pocket.
"Well look at that it went in," Alex said with a little smile, he had a tendency to brag a little, then he took another shot and once again a ball went in which now meant that he and Brody were ahead with five to three, but as he had to shoot again he knew that no matter how he tried to shoot it would be a long shot, but he took the aim and hit the cue ball, he did hit one of the balls but it was far from one going into one of the pockets.
"Okay, let's see how you will go on from here?" Alex said and sent a teasing smile to Liv.

Liv smiled at Alex before looking at the table, she would have to really play now if she wanted to win. It took her a moment to make her shot. She hit the cue ball of the rail and it hit a solid knocking it easily into a corner pocket. Then she lined up again and made a clear shot into a side pocket, tying the game. Standing up she looked over the table, she saw a shot but it would be tricky but she wanted to get ahead in the game. Liv lined it up, she would have to bounce the cue ball off the rail and hope it would miss the striped ball and hit the solid into the hole. "Here goes nothing.." she muttered as she hit the cue ball with force, and she watched as the play she had envisioned in her head took place and put the solid ball into the pocket. "Oh yeah!" she exclaimed before blushing and focusing on the game again, she hadn't meant to brag. They were up by one and she didn't see any more open shots so she decided to place the cue ball in a great place, if she could get it there she would leave Brody with a poor choice in his moves. Liv didn't really look to where she shot she just sort of hit the ball lightly and watched as it rolled up against the rail between a solid and the eight ball.

This would be a tough one, it would be possible if he did a really daring move, but it could just as well go wrong. He looked thoughtful, then he walked over to Alex and dragged him away a little, whispering to him while he from time to time looked back at the table where Tom and Liv were standing.
"I could do the jumper, but there's a big chance it would go wrong if I hit the cue wrong," Brody whispered, it was pretty much lying on his shoulders right now. Over the years he and Alex had given their different shots and tactics names so no one knew what exactly they were talking about.

Tom walked over to Liv and sent her a smile after her last shot.
"Good one, Liv," Tom said as he looked at the table and where Brody took his time to look at his chances. When Brody walked over to Alex and they stood and whispered together Tom couldn't help but chuckle.
"Anytime today would be nice, guys," he said, so Alex and Brody could hear him, then he sent them a big grin.
"We are not getting any younger here, so will you take a shot Brody," Tom said and looked towards the Bernstein brothers. Of course he probably wouldn't have said it if he knew that he was playing with three werewolves.

"Thanks." Liv said as she smiled back at Tom. Looking towards the two guys she smirked as they whispered to each other, she was glad she had chosen to put the cue ball in that position...now thye had a good chance at the win. She finished off her beer and ran her fingers through her hair. "Come on guys, it doesn't take all night to find a shot. We all know ya'll will lose anyways." she said with a small smile. Liv couldn't be for sure on who was going to win this game but she was hoping her and Tom would be the winners. She looked at her wrist as if there was a watch on, "Times a ticking guys...any day now." she joked.

Alex looked at the table over Brody's shoulder as Brody whispered what he wanted to do, it would be bold and a bit of a show off, but if he could do it and hit one of their two balls they had left then it would be perfect. As the two others started to taunt them, he looked over at his friend and the woman.
"Oy, hold your horses will yah. He'll shoot in a second," Alex said before he turned his attention back and looked at his brother.
"Do it, I've got faith in you, remember who taught you.....me," Alex said with a big smile. Then he slapped Brody on the shoulder and waited for Brody to take his shot. This would be epic if Brody actually managed to do it, it wasn't exactly an approved shot, more something people used to show what they could do with a pool stick and a cue ball.
"But if you screw up I will kick your butt," Alex said when Brody was about to get ready to shoot then he sent his brother a teasing smile.

Brody was just about to get ready to shoot when Alex came with his little kick in the butt thing if Brody missed, he looked over his shoulder and pointed his tongue at his brother.
"Thanks man, it's nice to know I'm loved," Brody said and turned his attention back to the table. He didn't get in position for an ordinary shot, he would try something with a fly ball that would make the ball go in the direction he wanted it to, it was something Alex had taught him years ago and he hadn't done it for a while, so he wasn't sure it would work, he could just as well shoot the ball off the table if it was, but he went nothing. It looked like he lifted the ball with the pool stick and it went in the direction he hoped for landing softly on the table again it rolled with medium speed towards the ball he wanted hit, he had a nervous expression on his face as he thought the ball wasn't just in the right angle as he wanted it to be, but it hit the ball he had been aiming for and it rolled towards the side pocket and he thought for a second he had failed as the ball didn't go down right away but stayed on the edge, he wasn't sure if it was the sudden breeze that came through the room when someone opened a fire door or what, but the ball went in. Brody raised his arms and looked like he had just won the game even though he still had to get one ball and the eight ball in the holes.
"WOW, look at that," Brody said and high fived with his brother.
"I almost thought it wouldn't go in, the angle was completely off," Brody said and looked over at the other two to see how they reacted to his little stunt.

Tom couldn't help but laugh at the brotherly love there was between those two Bernstein brothers. Alex had always teased Brody, but Brody was man enough to take it and didn't fear to return it either, so it could be quite funny being around those two when they first got started. But as Brody made the shot, Tom dropped his mouth, he hadn't seen that shot for years and he had never seen Brody do it, only Alex.
"Wow, you've improved your game, Brody," Tom said as he watched the cue ball roll towards the other ball. When the ball was tilting on the edge of the pocket he felt the wind that sudden came and the ball went in and as the brothers high fived, he looked a little displeased.
"I'm not sure about this, I say it's the wind that did it," he said, he wasn't prepared to loose to these two guys.

Liv couldn't help but clap her hands at that shot "Way to go Brody! Never have I ever seen that shot before." she said. It was quite good, it could either be a win or lose shot and he was lucky enough so that it ended up being a win. She did not want to lose to these two so she was hoping he would miss the next shot and that Tom would win the game for them. The wind that had blown in previously was probably the cause of the ball falling in but she wasn't about to ruin the fun by saying so. She ordered herself another beer and when it arrived she took a sip and eyed the table.

Brody only had to get their last ball in and then the eight ball and they would have won, Brody looked at the cue ball's position and the last ball he had to put in the pocket before he could finish the game, it was perfect and it would be a pretty easy shot.
"Piece of cake," Brody said and took the position. He aimed, fired and off the white ball went towards his and Alex' last ball before the eight ball. The ball went into the corner pocket with a slam and a big smile appeared on Brody's face, now it was only the eight ball.
"Let's win us some money, bro'," Brody said and now aimed for the eight ball, but he didn't know what it was, if he had not put too much pressure on the ball or what, but the eight ball didn't get enough speed and ended a couple of itches from the pocket.
"DAMN!" Brody exclaimed and looked heavily disappointed. He could see right away that Tom could easily win the game if he played up to his best.

Liv had a anxious look on her face after Brody hit their last ball left, all they had was the eightball and then they would win. She gripped her drink tightly in her hand as she watched him take aim for his last shot. She had to set her glass down when she felt it threatening to break, she was very competetive. When the eight ball stopped inches from the pocket she couldn't help but let out a breath of air and fought the urge to shot out with excitement. She took a gulp of her beer and looked at the table, Tom could easily win this. Liv turned and took Toms hand in one of hers "You got this. No pressure or anything but you have some easy shots lined up for you. You can do it." she told him before kissing his cheek and moving to the tables edge. She wanted to win this game. It wasn't about the money, she just didn't like to lose.

Tom smiled a little when Brody missed or in other words didn't get the eight ball in, but he was momentarily dumb struck when Liv gave him a kiss on the cheek, he looked at her for a second, swallowed and moved to the table where he aimed the cue ball, the tingling feeling on his cheek were making him loose his focus for a second, but he managed to regain his ball eye and shot the cue ball towards their last ball. The ball was hit with such power it made a loud noise as it hit the pocket and went in. Tom moved around the table and aimed the cue ball at the eight ball, the last ball he had to shoot in. He fired and seconds later the game was over, he and Liv had won, he got back in an upright position and with a big smile to the guys he turned around to Liv.
"Now that's how it's done," Tom said as he looked at the girl. He felt a bit awkward as he just stood there, he wasn't entirely sure what on earth he should do now, give her a pad on the shoulder, a hug, kiss on the cheek, what?

Alex looked in shock at the table as Brody's last ball didn't go in, but he didn't say anything, hoping that Tom would miss or something so Alex could finish the game off, but as usual he didn't get what he wished for, when Tom put in the eight ball he turned around towards his brother and hit him hard on the shoulder.
"Damn it Brody, if you had been putting some speed into that last ball we wouldn't have lost," Alex said before he turned around to the others.
"I demand a rematch and I'll bloody heck will start this time. Double or nothing," Alex said was already starting to put the balls back up on the table. He hated to loose and when he first got in this mood it meant he would break hard and he would play hard, no giving this time.

Liv was nervous but excited after Tom made their last ball in and aimed for the eight ball, she so wanted to win this game. When Tom hit the eight ball in she clapped her hands and held back a cheer. When he turned to face her she threw her arms around him and kissed his cheek again, she was just really excited. Liv did think Tom was cute and everything but she normally wouldn't just hug and kiss a random stranger she was just really happy.
When Alex demanded a rematch she chuckled "Oh no.... There is no way. Even if we did you wouldn't win. I mean we could have a rematch...." she said. She wanted to have a rematch but she didn't want to lose, she hated to lose and she had a feeling that if they had a rematch she wouldn't be a winner.

When Liv put her arms around him in a hug and gave him another kiss on the cheek he had no idea what to do, he awkwardly put his arms around her as well, not entirely hugging her, it just looked like it. His head was burning up and he was pretty sure it was bright red. As soon she had let him go again, he hurried over to his beer and took a big gulp as his eyes moved to Liv. What on earth was going on, he wasn't used to be this close to a woman, sure he had been on a couple of dates, but it had never really done anything for him, but this woman made it slightly more complicated.
"Can't we just play for fun. After all we were here to have a good time and you know how you get if you don't win," Tom said as he walked over to Alex and put a hand on his shoulder.
"We'll have a rematch another time, I'm sure Liv here will join us next time," Tom said and looked over at Liv and sent her a little smile, his eyes lingered with hers for a second before he moved his attention back to Alex.

Liv couldn't help but notice the blush that had appeared on Tom's face, she hoped she hadn't made him feel to uncomfortable.....she just couldn't help herself. When he mentioned playing for fun this time Liv nodded her head in agreement with Toms idea. "Yeah let's just play for fun. I can't afford to lose too much money tonight and I have a feeling I would be losing money on the next game. Of course next time when there is a rematch I will be sure to join." she said. She wouldn't want to miss such a great game, Brody and Alex were quite the pair to play against at a good game a pool and Tom was a great partner.

"Fine, then we'll just play for fun now," Alex said and then he gave Tom a punch on the shoulder.

Brody didn't do it on purpose, but when Alex started to refer to him as a woman again, he placed his hand on his hip and looked offended at his brother.
"If you keep that up I will punch you," Brody said, but none the less he took the cure ball and placed it and made a break. The balls went in all possible directions and three balls went in. He aimed and fired the ball again and put a fourth ball in, then he took another aim, but missed, then he went over to his beer and took a sip.
"So Tom, how do you like the town so far? It's a way down from New York isn't it, I mean when it comes to crime that is," Brody asked and looked over at Tom as they waited for Liv to get the ball rolling.

Tom couldn't help but chuckle at Alex teasing Brody. They never changed, which was what he liked about those two. He took a seat next to Alex and drank some of his beer while watching Brody break.
When Brody asked if Tom liked the town and the difference between Carpe Noctum and New York, he smiled.
"Well so far Carpe Noctum has treated me well, not to mention it doesn't hurt that I already know two people here well three now," Tom said and looked over at Liv. He was thinking if he should ask her out on a date or something or at least as friends.
"And Carpe Noctum vs. New York, well the main reason I moved here was because here I have the chance of becoming a sheriff, the future in the police force back in New York is more dim. But it's hard being away from Matt," Tom said and pulled out his wallet and found a picture of a three year old kid smiling widely to the camera.
"He's growing as weed," he said and looked proudly at the picture of the little boy before he showed it to Alex and Brody.

Liv went to the table and made a shot, making a ball in before lining up for another shot. She was keeping up with the conversation and had just been about to shoot when Tom said something about his on. She had to stop herself mid swing or else she would have missed her shot completely, she hadn't been expecting that from him. Taking a deep breath she went for her shot again, making it in and going for another one but she missed. Standing up straight she looked towards Alex, nodding to the table to let him know it was his turn. Then she went to look at the photo that Tom was holding. "He is adorable. How old is he?" she asked him, truely curious.

When Liv came over and asked how old his son was, he couldn't help smiling.
"He's three, he lives with his mom back in New York, but I see him as often as I can due to my work, but it's hard not being able to be with him everyday, you know," Tom said and looked once more at the picture before he put it back in his wallet. After Alex was done shooting in two balls, went Tom to the table only managing to put in one, then he walked back to his stool and sat down.
"Alex was the one who introduced me to Michelle, my ex-wife. She used to date him, but as always I had to take over the left overs," Tom said and gave Alex a punch on the shoulder and gave Alex a teasing smile.
"He was always the one who got the girls, I'm not what you can call a guy who knows how to score a pretty woman. I'm to daft," he said and sent Liv a shy smile before he moved his attention back to the table as it was Brody's turn to shoot.

Liv thought the little boy in the photo resembled Tom a lot. She moved back as he put the picture back in his wallet, saying how he had gotten Alexs seconds. She couldn't help but chuckle some at that> She had to have been a good woman to have married him and had a kid with him. "Must be really hard not being with him everyday, not being able to watch him grow up." she said before drinking some of her beer and looking at the table as Alex went to take his turn. She could tell Tom was the shy type and that had to make it hard when it came to talking to the ladies.

Tom nodded when Liv mentioned it must be hard not being able to watch him grow up.
"Yeah, and now that Michelle has a new guy who's around Matt everyday. He's great with him it's not that, but Matt is only three and he's starting to call him for dad as well. But I don't really have any other options right now. We have talked about that I might be able to have Matt more often and he live with me part of the time at least until he starts school, but I think it's better that he's got some kind of stability in his life, moving back and forth isn't good for him either," Tom said and it was clear that being divorced where a kid was involved wasn't easy. He loved his son above anything else and he could have stayed in New York and continued there, but he knew he would hate himself and end up like most of his colleagues. Having three ex-wives, child support and a drinking habit and he didn't want to end up like that. He needed to get out of the big city and away from that life and one of the sacrifices was his time with his son.

It wasn't too difficult with the moving cause I didn't interfer with school or anything." she told Tom. She wasn't sure if he had thought of that before or not. The only way it had bothered her was the fact her parents weren't together but other than that it had been quite fun. She finished her drink and set the empty glass to the side, she was done drinking for the night, she was hungry though and figured she would go out for a bite to eat after this game.

Alex had seen how Tom and Liv were talking, he smiled a little. He wanted Tom to be happy, but he also feared that he would get hurt especially when it came to dating a werewolf, since Tom didn't believe in such things. Alex feared he wouldn't get a chance to ask Tom for a favor, so he walked over to the two.
"Hi, sorry to interrupts, but can I talk to you for a second, alone," Alex asked and looked at Tom. Then he walked away from the table to a more quiet corner, or more like away from the other. When Tom came over he looked over towards the table where Brody and Liv were.
"I want to hear if I could ask you favor, you see I need to get access to a prison cell, but I thought maybe you could help me, take some pictures of it. There's nothing illegal or anything," Alex said and looked curious at his friend. He wasn't entirely sure if Tom would agree to do it, not to mention the possible questions that would lead with the request, but he had to take the chance, it would be easier for Alex that was for sure.

Yes ’n’ hey, it’s good to be back home again

Brody aimed and managed to hit some balls, one going in, the other hit some of the other balls, the next one he missed and as he walked over and grabbed his beer well what was left of it anyways, he took a sip. When Alex came over and wanted to talk to Tom, he couldn't help but look after him. Well it was better to get it over with.
"Your turn Liv," Brody said, before he drank the last of his beer. Then he took a seat while he looked in the direction where Tom and Alex now were talking.

When Alex came over to talk to Tom she smiled and moved to the table as they walked away to give them some space. She watched Brody shoot and it wasn't long before it was her turn. She looked at her chances on the table before shooting. The cue ball bounced off the side and and hit a ball in a corner pocket, lining up again she shot and made another ball in a side pocket. She didn't see any more clear shots so she fired at a group of balls dispersing them. Turning Liv smiled at Brody "So what is it you do?" she asked, meaning as his career, she was trying to start a casual conversation while Alex finished up talking to Tom and took his turn.

Brody turned his attention to Liv's game, he couldn't keep staring in Tom and Alex' direction. When Liv asked what he did, he snapped out of his own thoughts.
"Eh, I'm running the local magazine. Basically I'm a reporter," he said as he slightly leaned against his poll stick while sitting.
"What do you do for a living?" he asked now they had taken up work professions. He looked over at Tom and Alex again and could see that Tom looked serious as he said something, Brody could hear. He really hoped Tom could help them out and when it came down to it it wouldn't be at all illegal if Tom did it as he had access to the cells.

"I am a chef. I absolutely love to cook....but right now I'm unemployed." she told Brody. She had been thinking about cooking at the Beach Side Cafe or possibly opening up her own catering business, but she would have to work for a bit first of course. Liv sat down and crossed her legs, she could tell Brody's mind was else where and she noticed that he kept looking towards Alex and Tom....it made her curious as to what they were talking about but she wasn't one to intrude and ask questions about it. Liv begin to think of the business opportunities she would have if she opened up a catering business.
