After removing themselves from the room that Lenard was occupying, Artemys led Aine up to her room intending for them to have their own privacy away from the bustling activities going on about the mansion. "Mr. Noillion certainly has an…‘interesting’ persona. One night he is trying to save you while he himself is on the brink of death… and the next he goes back to being a complete ass…" She sighed, lightly shaking her head as she opened her door to Aine.
When the two entered the room, the seneschal gently closed the door and slowly made her way over to the bed which remained as unkempt as she last left it. "Please make yourself comfortable, milady." Artemys gestured politely over to the chaise lounge in front of her bed, as she herself got her lower body under the cover of the blankets. She made the upper part of her body as comfortable as possible, resting it against a couple pillows. After adjusting herself, she neatly folded her hands atop her lap and lightly smiled at her friend as she patiently waited for her to get settled.

my angel is coming down from heaven to take me -
i reach out & you fade away. when you call for me, i dream of a stairway to the sky.

Her face was stoic as she followed her Seneschal through the halls of Celestial Rayne Manor. While on a normal occasion she might have been thrilled to be invited to Art's home away from the vampire castle, there was nothing ordinary about the situation. Art was injured and Aine herself was feeling the fatigue of countless hours killing off minor soldiers, (of whom, frustratingly kept multiplying. Or so it seemed). Her prized red hair had been lobbed off by some ass, (who had recently returned to the proper rotting-corpse, thanks to her hand). She had tried to show compassion - true, genuine feelings - with Lenard only to have been pushed off to the side by a married woman, (in her self-absorbed fits, the Head Lady had failed to notice the Noillion man's fleeting glances in her direction).
Then of course, the were was a war going on.
Finally the pair had made it to Artemys's room. The brunette had commented about Lenard's behavior as they entered the room and what she heard, she was surprised by. "He tried to save you? In that state?" Then again, he'd put his life in danger and faced a hysterical woman with a vampire-killing dagger, just to save her life as well. Maybe Lenard was more courageous than she was giving him credit for. Nevertheless, there were more important matters at hand. At Art's gesture, Aine approached the chaise lounge but waited to make sure the former got into bed alright before sitting down herself. When they were both settled, the new-found platinum sighed heavily. "Alright, why don't we start from the top, aye? I thought we were prepared to fight back on August first. What went wrong?" A grimace etched itself into the weary lines of her face. This was going to be a difficult conversation to deal with.○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○-- character ♦ aine saoirse o'connor !

Artemys partially rolled her eyes supported by a brief nod when Aine questioned Lenard’s attempt at being heroic despite the state he was in. "Hai… He did manage to kill one vampire that decided to sneak up on me, if I do recall. Technically it should not count seeing as I was out in my astral form. My body was very much safely hidden in one of the castle’s secret rooms I stumbled upon months ago." She sighed almost regretting her next words. "Even so… I do feel like I owe him… but perhaps the debt has already been paid. I did take it upon myself to carry him all the way to the room I just mentioned. He could barely keep up. Was not an easy task I have to say but in the end I brought him to safety." She paused for a moment before continuing. "After that he insisted that he had to ‘get me out of there’. I of course refused such a thing. There was no chance in hell I was going to let him do such a thing considering his condition. They sewed his lips together you know…" She didn’t know why she was going into so much detail about her encounter with Lenard in the castle. Perhaps it was to show that even a troublesome vampire like him had some humane qualities given the opportunity. "He asked me if you were at the castle as well if that means anything." The seneschal recalled the Noillion man inquiring about the Head Lady’s whereabouts.
"Nonetheless… the report…" Artemys readjusted herself under the covers and ruffled up her pillows a bit before she started. "We were prepared to fight, Aine… what went wrong was the timing of it all." She closed her eyes, her teeth clenching against the other in remembering what happened just hours ago… right before the castle was ambushed. "The bastard decided to attack much sooner than we anticipated. I cannot help but think we should have expected such a thing to happen… but it did." Gently opening her mismatched orbs, she looked at the Head Lady with a steady stare. "I informed Leona just as soon as I spotted the army approaching from the distance. After that… I went ahead to warn the other inhabitants of the castle… Unfortunately I was only able to reach those in the upper floors… I had been too late to get to those downstairs…" She heaved a heavy sigh averting her attention elsewhere. Echoing screams of fallen vampires in the castle resounded like an annoying ringing sound in her ears.
"Knowing the only thing I could do at that point was to fight back, like I mentioned earlier I hid my body in a hidden room and from there on proceeded to go through the halls in my astral form and take down as much of the enemy as I could." Looking up at the ceiling, Artemys wondered how many of the enemy vampires she had slain the previous night… She loathed having to do the deed but what choice did she have? "Shortly after I decided to head back to my room… I had no leads where to go and who knows if there was anyone looking for me… that is when I found Lenard… I did not recognize him at first… his face…. His body… disfigured and horrifying is all I can say about it. They really did a number on him." She slowly shook her head. "What happened with him I already explained beforehand. After refusing that he get me out of there, I went to the halls killing off as much of the intruders. Leona was supposed to be arriving soon at that time. When I went to the North Wing of the castle, I spotted some of the Rose Alliance vampires setting everything on fire. I tried to stop them but one of the vampires chose to keep me occupied while the others continued on. My fight with him is generally the reason for my injuries. He was relentless but in the end I was able to kill him… quite viciously I have to confess." She dared not to spare her friend the details of how the fight went. Artemys was too ashamed to even want to remember what happened. "To make the rest of the report short… Leona found me and eventually Lenard before sending us off here to my humble abode. The vampire castle unfortunately fell to the enemy." The seneschal concluded as she brought her gaze back over to her Head Lady. What would her response be to all that was said, she wondered somewhat apprehensively.
