Leona hated her brother right now, she felt like she couldn't do anything useful at the moment and now with her brother sending her to the library to do some research was not exactly what she had imagine she would be doing. She sighed as she took another ancient looking book from the huge pile the librarian had brought her. She would actually prefer to spend time with Javier right about now, but what was the chance of that, she thought as she went through the index of the book to see if there was anything she could use, when there wasn't, she closed it and placed in another huge pile of books she had been through. Before she was going to grab another book she looked up and took a look around the library, there weren't that many people in there at the moment, but her eyes fell on a man who was very preoccupied with a book, she was sure she had seen him somewhere before, but she couldn't quite place him. Just as she was about to look over at the pile of books she was going through the man looked up and straight at her. Their eyes met and he quickly lowered his gaze back to the book. Leona narrowed her eyes a little, was he spying on her, she thought. She pretended to get up and find a book down one of the aisles and as she glanced back she noticed the guy got up as well taking the book with him, but instead of following her, he walked down an aisle in the opposite direction and disappeared. She sighed with relief, was she starting to get paranoid. That would just be perfect, she thought and walked back to the table where she had sat only seconds before. That was when she got a strange feeling like someone was watching her, she looked around, but no one seemed suspicious and the guy she had suspected earlier was on his way out of the library. Who was watching her and why? She thought and looked straight towards an aisle that went darker and darker, she could see someone moving in the shadows.

javier had come to the library to pick up a few books for nora, he knew she loved to read so he decided to see if they had anything that she might like. he had just arrived to the library when he caught the scent of his bride but he wasnt their for her, he was their for his daughter so he just kept walking towards the fantasy section. for some reason it was placed in the far corner of the library where their was very little light,lucky for him he was a vampire and so the low light was no problem for him. he searched the bookshelf and found a few books that looked intresting and with them in hand he started to walk towards the tables so he could look them over and see if they were anything worth bringing home.

Leona started to walk towards the aisle where she had seen the shadow and just as she reached it, the person who had walked around in the shadows walked into the light. Leona stopped at once.
"Seriously, are you stalking me? Everywhere I go, there you are, can't believe it," Leona said in a hushed voice, but it was clear that she wasn't pleased at all.
"Don't you have anything better to do than follow me around? I'm so sick and tired of you always popping up where you're not needed," Leona kept on still in the hushed angry voice. Then she noticed the books in his hands, yeah right as if he was here to borrow books. Probably some lame excuse he'll come with that he felt like reading or something, she thought and just stared at Javier with narrowed eyes.

as javier was heading to a table leona aproached him and accused him of stalking her.

"im here to pick up some books for our daughter lea,my life doesnt completly revolve around you my dear" he said as he kept walking toward the table and took a seat.

"and if i wanted to stalk you i would not get caught sweety" he said as he flipped open the first book looking it over waiting for lea to reply. he was paying attention to the books and just partially paying attention but still ignoring her to a point

Leona huffed as Javier walked past her and over to a table and she followed him, she didn't want to let this slide. And the fact that he ignored her and called those annoying names made her boil.
"Well it is strange that everywhere I turn, then poof you're there. Frankly I don't care if you're out getting books or coffee for that matter, you're getting on my nerves and I honestly don't need more stress in my life, when I have to look at you every other day," Leona said and stared at Javier with a stubborn expression on her face. She sometimes wondered what on earth she had seen in him in the first place. Sure he was good looking and he could be sweet, but since she met him during the second world war had he gone on her nerves. She wasn't sure if it was her vampire senses that played her, but one thing was for sure, she wasn't the same woman now as when she was human, not to mention she had been through over 200 years of hell.
"Or haven't you noticed that I'm practically in open war with the Bodouars, I'm getting manipulated by Laurant, hearing things that I now know isn't me but Laurant who's doing mind games with me and now I have to worry about the fact that my daughters life is in danger, just because you can't keep her away from me," Leona said and her voice started to rise a little. She noticed a guy looking up, who sat at a desk behind Javier, but she simply gave him a cold stare and he returned his attention to the book he was reading. Then she moved her attention back to Javier.
"And now Leo has put me on research duty, because he can't trust me anymore afraid that Laurant will take over my mind again and make me do crazy things. I don't know how much more I can take before I crack, not to mention the influence you have on me, the fact that you can make Laurant's mind attacks go away. I don't want to be dependent on anyone but myself, it freaks me out ," she said and realised that she had been bottling everything up in the last couple of months and now the fact that Javier had some kind of mojo that made her think more clearly when she was around him. Although she hadn't said anything about the nightmares she had had lately, in fact she hadn't had a proper night sleep for several days now, but so far she had been able to hide it, she didn't want her family to worry even more than they were. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling before she moved her gaze at Javier, she wasn't even sure he had heard what she said. Why did he make her feel so....she didn't even know how she felt. Some part of her loved him to death, but then she could change just like that and she couldn't stand the sight of him. Maybe she just wasn't cut out for a relationship all together. The men she had been with over the years hadn't lasted long, the only consistent man there had been was Javier and well perhaps Julian as well, but that was over for sure.

javier took his attention away from the book every time leona started to talk, he did care he was just annoyed by her accusation.

"can i help it if we have the same intrests lea" he said as he set the book down and started paying full attention to leona. he lightened up a bit now and wasnt so mean looking.

"i have heard about the fighting,if it's of any consolation i can help you with that problem,being their deathbringer gave me certain extra's that might come in handy when you have to fight them" he said with a smile.

"lea, nora has grown up without a mother and now that she's old enough i thought she should at least get to meet you, she will be safe" he said as he pulled out his chair and turned towards her.

when she said that he had the power to stop Laurant's attacks on her mind he was stunned.
"im sorry, i know how much you hate having to depend on others but just this once let us help you. that is what family is for, they are their for you to lean on. just because we are helping you doesnt mean you are not strong" he said getting up and walking to her side and laying a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"it just means your not a cold heartless monster like the twins, you still have your humanity" he said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"i worked for the twins and they would kill their own family to get ahead,they only care about themselves, and that is why i left them in my past when finnally woke up about their horrible ways, and i know i used to be like that but i have changed... you changed me" he said

When Javier kissed her on the cheek she pulled away a little, it was a reflex and was part of the continuing rejection she had showed towards him the last couple of minutes. But his words got to her and she met his gaze, her brown eyes showed a sadness that showed that she had been struggling for several centuries against a pair of twins and when she thought of them, she couldn't help but think of Javier. Leona pulled out a chair and practically collapsed on it.
"I know you're right, but ever since that night I'm afraid of having people I love close to me, I'm afraid that I'll loose everyone again. You can't imagine how hard it was for me when I woke up after Lestat had turned me," Leona said and looked at Javier, she had never told him about the time just after she had turned and he hadn't asked, which she had appreciated.
"The thought of having lost my entire family except from Leo and when Lestat told me that you were dead as well. If I hadn't died I would have in that moment. I had lost everyone I cared about and then when Lestat was close at getting to Leo and me in Romania I completed the job, I made Leo hate me just so I could keep him safe," Leona said and her voice was close at breaking.
"After Leo and I reunited I know that you can't protect people by pushing them away, but I can't handle if I lost anyone of you," she said and tears started to run down her face and she angrily wiped them away.
"I want them dead, I want them out of my life, but I can't find any solution to how I can do that and now that I'm pretty much taken out of what's going on because of what Laurant can do to me. I haven't slept for days, it's just like when Leo were torturing me when he first returned and wanted to get even with what I had done to him. I can't keep Laurant out of my head and it frustrates me," Leona said, she was so afraid that she would go crazy again as she had done back in the 19th century that they would have to lock her up.
"I'm afraid Javie, I'm afraid that I'll go crazy again and I don't know how much more I can take," she said, her lips were trembling and her eyes started to water up again as she looked at Javier. Hoping to find some kind of comfort in those dark eyes she always had been able to disappear into.

javier smiled at leona. "i know honey i can never know what you felt that moment, but what i can do is be their for you from now on" he said as he pulled his chair right next to her and put his arm around her.

"i wish i could have been their with you when you came too but the twins had sent their next best after me and i had to flee so that they wouldnt kill you to get back at me" he said holding her. he hated that he had to leave but julian had promised to keep an eye on her.

"but i never stopped watching over you, julian as always keeping an eye on you for me, and then when i thought it was safe he told you i was alive remember" he said as a tear ran down his face.

"i know your afraid of losing us but i promise you will never have to worry about us again,Nora and I will always be here and i know your siblings will be as well" he said now with more tears starting to form in his eyes.

"i know you want them dead,so do i but you have to take care of yourself. what is the point of living if you torture yourself. the twins day will come and they will fall and we will all have our revenge" he said before putting his under her chin to make her look at him.

Leona looked at Javier and gave him a little smile, but as the things he had said fully got into her head, she looked surprised at him.
"What do you mean by Julian would tell me that you were alive? He never said anything, why do you think I was surprised to see you in Paris at the resistance meeting. I thought you were dead, he.......," Leona said, but trailed off. Then Javier didn't know that she had had an affair with Julian, she looked down at her hands.
"I've had an on and off relationship with him for almost a century, he was good to me and well I guess I feel in love with him during the years when I was still with Lestat. He helped us escape and he helped us over the years after that. Then we broke it off around 1850, or I broke it off with him, he never really got a hint to why I didn't want to be with him anymore," Leona said and looked at Javier again with big surprise in her face.
"Why on earth would he do something like that?" she asked although she perfectly knew the answer to that question, Julian had wanted Leona to himself, how could she have been so stupid, trusting a man like that. Then she started to get worked up again, this time turning her anger towards Julian.
"I'm so sorry, if I had known, if he had told me," she said and gently touched his cheek. She started to get the bumbling feeling she used to get when she touched Javier, why couldn't it all just fall into place, why did it all have to be so difficult, she thought.

javier just sat their holding her as leona talked untill she talked about julian and his mind turned for the worse. he pulled his arm away from leona and started to get up.

"why that two timing cheat, im gonna...." was all he got out before his anger go the best of him and he got up to go find julian. he was put into rage that hadnt been seen in him since he worked for the twins. as he got up to leave he turned to talk to leona.

"i will be back lea, i have to go take care of a certain someone" he said reaching back and pulling his pistol from it's holster chambered a round. his mind returned to it's deathbringer attitude,Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy.

he and julian had been bestfriends for years. he was supposed to be watching over her for him not stealing his wife. he was not a hatefull man normally but hatred towards julian was growing fast in his body and he wouldnt stop till julian was begging for mercy.

Leona looked at Javier in shock, then she noticed how people now started staring at them and when he pulled out the gun, there was starting to get a panic among the few people there were in the library. Leona quickly got to her feet and grabbed Javier's arms, pressing him up against the table, so he had to get past her to even get anywhere.
"You're making a scene. What's done is done and it's over a century ago, I've put Julian behind me and there's nothing more to come after. I know that you feel betrayed, but trust me going off on some kind of vendetta for what he's done, I won't let you," Leona said and placed her other hand behind his head and made him look at her.
"Please, don't do this, for me. I know what he did was wrong, but we need him. If you turn against him now I fear that he might turn against us and we could really use his money and his influence to fight the Bodouars," Leona said and looked into Javier's eyes, hoping that he would see some reason in it all. If not, then she just had to threaten him, if he did go after Julian if would be over between them for good, but she would have great difficulty in saying that, cause she didn't want Javier out of her life. She hadn't loosen her firm grab on Javier's hand that he held the gun in.
"We need to think smart here, I've been using my influence on Julian so he can help us with the fonding of it all. We need him to beat Laurant and Lestat" she whispered, so only Javier could hear it. She hadn't been this close to him for what felt like ages and she knew it was wrong, but when Javier suddenly turned macho it lit something inside her. She moved her hand from the back of Javier's head to his cheek and then his chin, then giving him a little smile. Her head moved to the side of his head so her lips were right next to his ear.
"Javie, put the gun back. I'll give him a good beating when I see him again," she said and smiled a little even though Javier could see it, then she kissed his cheek and with the hand that had been touching his cheek now ran slowly down his arm as she moved her head so it she could look him into his eyes again. She had a warmth in her eyes that she hadn't showed him for ages. And as her hand reached his, she entwined her fingers with his. She knew that everyone was watching them, but she had to try and talk him out of what he was intending to do and she had decided to go with the sweet version first. If that didn't work, she would just have to knock the crap out of him.

as leona pushed him back against the table he got mad. but he didnt react because she was still the love of his life. but when she whispered in his ear he started to calm down. he started to gain control back. she always knew how to calm him down and that was why he fell for her. she made him feel like he didnt have to fight. by the time she kissed him his deathbringer rage was under control.
he put the pistol back in it's holster and brought his hand back to her's

"for you i will hold back" he said. the warmth of her voice was music to his ears. he was caught up in her eyes. they melted away the anger in his soul. "the problem with the twins must take priority" he said out loud as he put his head down,to himself but still loud enough for leona to hear.

he looked up at her and pulled her closer to him and rested his forehead against hers lovingly.
"im sorry lea my anger got the best of me,i love you" he said not knowing how she'd react but he didnt care.

"i promise you on my life i will not leave you again" he said tears rolling down his face. as he leaned back against the table he looked back into her eyes. he didnt care that people were staring at them.

his whole body was still extremly tense, but for the time being he had calmed down. but he made a mental note that he had to find julian later.

Not that Leona didn't mind soft men, but Javier could sometimes over do it a bit, but she didn't say anything. She simply brushed her fingers through his hair and rested her hand on the back of his head and slightly pulling in his hair, while she gave him a little crooked smile.
"Besides you won't have time to worry about Julian, you have to teach me how to use a sword properly, not that I don't know how to use it, but all I use it for is to decapitate vampires and well to be honest I think I need a little more than just being able to decapitate a vampire's head," Leona said and actually enjoying standing this close to Javier again. Then she looked around and saw the librarian and several others stare at them, then she chuckled.
"Maybe we should gather our books and go somewhere more private than a public library," Leona said and turned her gaze back to Javier.
"Do you have time now, I could really use a good fight to get some frustration out. If you're up to getting beaten by a girl," she said, challenging him to a little duel, just the two of them against each other. She was pretty sure she could take him, if she wanted to and right now she wanted to kick some Javier butt, he sure could need it, she thought. But she had a flirtatious look in her eyes that followed the challenge.
"Or are you afraid?" she whispered in his ear. Then she moved away and walked over towards the table she had sat at earlier in a way that would make any guy look after her and she turned her head and looked at Javier with a certain look in her eyes. She grabbed some of the books she hadn't gone through yet and walked over to the counter to beep them out.

javier laughed.he hadn't dueled in years but he was always up for a fight.

"i am more than glad to duel with you, you might learn a thing or two" he said as he got up from the off the table. he didnt have any of his swords since their were still boxes being shipped in from their old house.

"i think thats a great idea, where'd you have in mind" he asked picking up the books he had picked out for nora and heading towards the desk. he signed them out after leona was done checking her's out.

Leona was glad that at least for now they could get along, but she imagined that when first the duelling began it would go down hard. She didn't give up that easily and she didn't like to loose, in facts she was a bad looser.
"Let's head up to the chateau, I think Leo won't mind that we borrow some of his swords, besides I have to get into something more comfortable. This isn't exactly my duelling clothes," Leona said and gave Javier a smile. Leo was the swordsman of the twins. Leona was more at throwing things, she could hit a target with her daggers from a long distance. Sure she had learned how to use a swords, but she didn't use it to fight with as such.

When Javier was done checking out his books, they headed outside. Leona had walked down to the library and didn't have any kind of transportation, so she looked at Javier.
"Are you in any kind of transportation, cause I'm not carrying these books back," Leona said, even though it wouldn't be a problem, but she just acted lazy for a change.

javier smiled when she talked about heading back to the chateau, he loved the old chateau and couldnt wait to get back onto it's grounds, even if they weren't the same as he was used to.

"sounds good to me, and if you have to get into something more comfortable to fight your not a very good warrior are you" he teased as they walked out of the library.

when she asked if he had any transportation he laughed. "i still have the Rolls-Royce from before the war, i had it shipped here last week" he said heading to the parking lot where his Rolls-Royce Phantom III was parked. when he got to the car he headed to the passenger side and opened the door for leona
"after you my dear" he said holding the door open.

When Javier mentioned that if she had to slip in something more comfortable to fight then she wasn't a good warrior, she simply sent him a stare.
"It's all for the show. I can fight in anything if it is, so don't started. Besides I have to look my best for you don't I?" Leona said in a flirtatious voice and sent him a little smile and glance.

When they reached Javier's car, she stopped and stared at it.
"Oh my god you're still driving that thing," Leona said and took a good look at it.
"You make me feel like Miss Daisy," Leona said and stepped into the car as she looked around.
"Then you must be Hoke Colburn. Serious Jaja, don't you live in the past, you should get one of those new fast cars or a motorcycle," Leona said, she was crazy with the new machinery you could get today, which was why she had two motorcycles and a sport scar at home.
"This car really belongs at a museum if you ask me," she said as she looked around the inside of the car.

javier laughed when she said she had to look her best for him. "you always look your best LeeLee" he smiled as he shut the door and went and got in himself.

"why yes miss daisy i do believe my car is just a few years old" he smirked as he started to pullout.

"dont get me wrong i love new cars and i just bought our daughter a new lamborghini reventon for her birthday and i have myself a Ferrari V4 Motorcycle prototype but i love this car" he said. he was a car collector, it just happened he had choosen one of his classics today.

"me and this car have been to hell and back, i have other cars that can smoke this car in half a second but it's not about the speed,it's about the history" he said.

Leona shook her head and smiled a little, while she got a bit comfy in her seat.
"What ever makes you world go round, as long I don't have to look at it all the time," Leona said with a smile and glanced at Javier, before she turned her attention to the windshield. It wasn't until now she realised that her headache had disappeared, in fact she felt extremely relaxed and she leaned slightly back and closed her eyes, just maybe she could rest a little for the first time for days and it didn't take many seconds before she dozed off. She hadn't slept properly for days and she had been so tired this morning, just five minutes rest would do her good. She sat with a little smile on her face and looked peaceful as Javier drove the car back to the chateau.
