javier pulled up to the vallet and stepped out of his car. he had made reservations for him and nora. they hadn't been out much in the past few weeks as they were still trying to get settled in. he handed the vallet his keys as he walked around the other side of the car and opened the door for nora. it was a beautiful night out. it had just stopped raining and everything smelled so clean it was amazingly calming.

Nora took a deep breath as she got out of the car, she gave her father a smile. "I just love the smell of fresh rain." she said to javier. Nora couldn't stop smiling, the thought of finally being settled in at Carpe Noctum was such a grand idea to her. Adjusting her skirt slightly Nora looked at the resteraunt, it seemed really nice and she felt just a little under dressed for such a fine place. The past couple of weeks had been filled with getting settled so she was glad to finally have a break and relax with her dad.

Javier smiled at Nora "i know isn't it just exhilarating " he said as he walked into the restaurant with Nora.

"you look fine my dear" he said knowing she felt under dressed. she reminded him so much of leona. it took all of his control not to tell her she was only mere miles from her mother. it pained him to keep that secret.

when they got in the maitre d' recognized him and brought them both right to their table.

"its nice to finally be settled in isnt it my dear" he said with a smile as he waited for the waiter.

"It is so great to be settled in finally." Nora answered as she folded her napkin in her lap and opened her menu, she looked over it but everything sounded so good. Smiling she closed it and set it to the side "How about you pick something for me to eat." she said to Javier. She was unsure of what to choose so she decided she would her father choose. "Tomorrow we shall have to go out and walk around town. Look at all the little shops and maybe some shopping." she said as she fiddled with her silverware.

"sounds good sweety" he said as they waited for the waiter to come take their orders.
" i know i thought we would never finish unpacking, it just seemed to go on and on" he said with a smile as the waiter arrived.

"i'd like to order the filet mignon... rare with a Caesar salad, and she would like the caramelized Atlantic salmon filet" he said as the waiter took their order.

"and as for drinks we'll have the Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck" he said with a smile as the waiter left.

he turned to Nora "for the $275,000 the wine is costing me i sure hope it's worth it.. but i want nothing but the best for my little girl"

"You always do spoil me so." she said with a smile. Looking around she looked over all the people, they were all quite lovely. Her father always treated her kind and with tons of love. She looked at Javier the smile still on her face "Thanks for taking me out to dinner tonight." she told him as she folded her napkin in her lap. The waiter arrived and presented them with the wine. She gave him a friendly smile before taking her glass and looking at the liquid, she swirled it around slightly and took a small breath. It smelled great, she took a small sip letting it rest in her mouth for a bit before swallowing. Setting her glass down she looked to her dad "I like it, what do you think?" she asked.

Jake held the door so Leona could step inside, then he walked over the man who stood and checked if people had reserved a table.
"Hello a table for two, Nóillión," he said and gave Leona a smile, before he turned his attention back to the man who checked the list. The guy said that a waiter would show them to their table shortly. Jake nodded and turned around so he could see into the restaurant, it was pretty well visited mostly by couples who looked extremely romantic at each other, he felt a bit odd about that. It wasn't like it was a romantic dinner Leona and he were one.
"Why on earth did you choose this restaurant it's all couples and I just feel that people might get the wrong idea about us," Jake whispered and glanced to his best friend who stood next to him.

Leona had done something she hadn't done since the birthday party earlier that year. She had put on clothes she usually wouldn't wear, this time it was other colours than black and red, it was now black and YELLOW, which was unheard of, she actually hated yellow, but she had found the dress in the back of her closet and thought why not. So she had put on a black turtle neck with long sleeves and black leggings and on top a bright yellow dress that reached right above her knees and with a pair of high heeled long boots and a long black bean necklace and her hair pulled back in a ponytail she had been all set to go out on a dinner with her best friend.

Now that Jake asked why they had to go to this place of all places she couldn't help but put her arm around him and gave him a big smile.
"Because I've always wanted to try this restaurant, it's French and when have you ever been worrying about what people might say," Leona said, before she gave him a closer look.
"It's got nothing to do with Lilly has it?" Leona asked and looked curious at Jake.

She looked into the restaurant as well with a big smile on her face and looked at all the people sitting in there, when her glance reached to a man, she had hoped she wouldn't have to run into at the moment, she quickly turned around hoping he hadn't seen her. After all he wouldn't recognize her from behind in this attire as it was so unlike her.
"Shit," she said, she was starting to think maybe it wasn't the best thing that they were there, but then a waiter came. He asked them to follow him, then she took a decision, she took Jake's hand and dragged him with her and after the waiter. They walked straight past the table where she had spotted Javier. She noticed he sat with a woman and as she quickly looked at her, she at once knew who it was. She smiled to the woman before she headed on as if she didn't know the two. Unfortunately they only sat two tables away, but she managed so she could sit with her back to the table where Javier and her daughter sat. What on earth should she do, she simply grabbed Jake's hand and signaled to him with her eyes to look behind her.

Leonora was shocked when she noticed the woman who had just walked in with a man. It was her mother, she couldn't stop staring but then she remembered she was here with her father and she was not supposed to know who Leona was. She took another sip of wine as they walked past, returning the smile before looking back to Javier. "I want you to help me pick out some adorable outfits tomorrow. Also since it is the Christmas season we have to get some decorations for our new place" she told him. She figured that they should decorate and get in the holiday spirit. She smiled as she took another sip and looked around.

javier's head turned the second the familiar scent hit his nose. he kept himself from staring but he say the look on his daughters face and he knew it was useless. so he turned his attention back to Nora.

"that sounds great, i think i know just the places to find them to" he said still trying to keep his focus on his daughter but when he noticed the man with her it was very hard to keep his cool, he never liked it when leona was around other men and when they were together at dinner it just pushed his buttons.

he called the waiter over to his table and told the man to see if they had a bottle of vintage noillion wine and send it to the couple 2 tables over. and before the man left he pulled as pen out of his pocket and wrote on a napkin "bonjour citrouille" and handed it to the waiter to deliver with the bottle

he tryed to not say anything about her near Nora, he figured she knew but he wasnt going to alert her on the off chance she didnt see her mother.

"Why are you sending them wine? Who are they?" she asked her dad to see if he would tell her anything about Leona. After all she wasn't supposed to know who her mother was. She glanced back at the table where she was sitting, wondering who the man was. "I hear there is a lovely antique store. We should try to go there tomorrow also. I think it would be nice to have some old things in our home. For my room I was thinking of maybe going for the oriental theme this time or african safari." she said for casual conversation. Her last theme had been medieval times.

Jake looked past Leona after they had sat down and looked over at the table where a man and a woman sat. He knew who they were even though they didn't know him, he had seen pictures of them. So this was Leona's husband. He could still remember the day he had gotten the letter where she had mentioned she had married Javier, the guy who had lured her into the life as a vampire.
"So this is just to set him off or something?" he whispered and looked down at their hands. Leona's hand was on top of his and he chuckled a little, well who would have known, Leona trying to make the guy behind them jealous.
"You know, I don't think I'll ever understand your crooked mind when it comes to men. But then again I am one, so......" Jake whispered and gave Leona a smile.

When a waiter came to their table saying that the guy down there had sent them a bottle of Nóillión wine, Jake couldn't help but smile and placed the bottle on the table along side with a note. Even though Jake's French was a bit rusty he could understand the two words on it. He started to check out the wine, he had always heard of the Nóillión wine, but he didn't know it was still possible to get hold of a bottle, it had to be extremely expensive.
"Impressive," he said and looked from the wine bottle over at Leona to see how her reaction to it all was.

Leona stared at Jake and when he looked down at their hands, she just mimed shut it to him.
"I just can't see why he has to come waltz into my life again. Who does he think he is?" Leona said and leaned back and crossed her arms like she had been offended, she looked at a spot to Jake's right, but it was interfered when a waiter suddenly came with a bottle of Nóillión wine and as he placed the note on the table, Leona grabbed it. When she read the two words she frowned and crumpled it. As the waiter reached them a menu she took it and opened it with determination and looked at the different courses, but she didn't really pay any attention to what it said. Her mind kept wandering two tables back and to Javier. Sure she had missed him all these years, she loved him in her own way, but she had always felt locked behind bars if she was with him for too long. To be honest he was the only guy she always felt stupid around, she always did stupid things, he was the one who made her knees weak, he was the one who made her feel like her dead heart was pumping. She sighed and closed her eyes.
"I'll have the salmon and then the veil and for dessert I would like the creme brulé. He will have the salmon as well, a steak and the creme brulé as well," Leona said and handed over the menu to the waiter.
"And do say thanks to the gentleman who sent this," she said and gave the waiter a smile. Then he bowed and left their table. Right now she was restraining herself not to go over and slap Javier straight on the face, but she had manners even though they were well hidden, but she hadn't forgotten everything she had learned.

Javier kept an eye on the waiter as he brought the bottle over to the table and handed the note to leona. when he watched her crumble up the note he chuckled. he loved pushing her buttons and he knew the pumpkin part would do just that. and with that he returned his attention back to his daughter.
"oh just she's just an old acquaintance from the war my dear" he said with a smile as the waiter came back and told him that she had thanked him for the wine. at which point he whispered to the waiter that he wanted him to forget what she had ordered and send her an order of Blanquette de veau and Cassoulet, and for dessert Chocolate Mousse which was the same dishes that they ate at their wedding.and then for the man a large order of Foie Gras, with confits and for dessert truffles.and he made it well worth the mans trouble by secretly handing the man a 2,000 dollars and sending him off to the kitchen.

he couldnt wait to see the look on lea's face. he then turned his attention back to Nora. "i think that your room would look exquisite with an oriental theme" he said with a smile.

"im sure we can find some very good pieces around, but if not i can always have them imported for you from china or japan depending on which way you wanted to go with it" he said with a smile as the waiter brought out their first coarse in front of them.

he knew he shouldn't have messed with her order but he couldn't help but push her buttons. he loved the women to death. but seeing her with another man made him jealous so he decided to do it anyway.

"I'm not sure exactly. I'm thinking maybe Japan, their artwork always seems to captivate me." she said. In her opinion the Japanese had better art the Chinese, sometimes it was equal. "You like to change your war friends meal.... Did the two of ya'll have a relationship?" she asked, a curious look in her eyes. She began to eat her first course as she glanced at her dad and then back at the lady sitting two tables away, she wanted to see if her father lie. Taking another bite she looked at Javier,"This is great." she said.

Leona looked forward to the food and while she tried and concentrate on her conversation with Jake, it completely blew when the waiter returned with the first course. She looked down at her plate before she looked up at the waiter.
"Excuse me, but we didn't order this," Leona said and looked down at her plate again. The waiter said that this was ordered for this table.
"Well not by us......" Leona said, but then she turned her head and looked straight at Javier, of course it was him. She pruned up as she stared straight at him for another second before she turned back in her seat, trying to not jump up and go over and knock him down from his chair.
"I'm this close at killing him," she said to Jake and the waiter who was still standing by their table looked shocked and started to look from their table and to Javier's. He started to offer to take the food again, when Leona got an idea.
"No no, by all means. Just put the food on his bill. Jake we're going to have a free meal tonight," she said loud enough for Javier to hear it. The waiter looked confused before he said that he couldn't just do that without the gentleman's permission. Leona looked up at him and into his eyes, before he nodded and said that of course the food was free for them and he would put it on Javier's bill, then he walked away and looked rather confused. Leona turned her attention back on Jake, but she felt bad, she had done something she had promised herself not to do, she had manipulated the poor guys mind to think that Javier had said it all would be put on his bill. Wasn't this exactly something Laurant would do, then she looked down at her plate and started to stick in it with her fork, but she had suddenly lost all her appetite. She shouldn't have done this and she knew Jake would mention it. She was just glad that Javier didn't know of her new found ability, it had only been a couple of weeks ago she had found out she could do it and now she was already doing it, so she could get back at him. It was just plain low even for her standards.

Jake looked surprised as the food arrived, it wasn't that he didn't mind it at all and as things progressed he started to figure out what happened. But when he saw what Leona did to that poor waiter, he waited until he had left before he looked hard at Leona.
"What the hell are you doing? Why did you have to do that, just to get back at him?" he whispered with anger in his voice and nodded towards the table where Javier sat.
"You're not better than Laurant if you start to do this," Jake kept on in a low tone so the rest of the restaurant wouldn't think they were in a fight or something. He hardly wanted to cause a scene.
"Leona, you will change that thought right now," he said firmly as if he was telling a child to go clean up after it had done a terrible mess.

Leona sighed and she fully understood Jake's reaction and she had to agree with him, she had to undo what she had done. She nodded and silently got up from the table.
"Better do it when I can see him, with all these people in here," Leona said and looked around. She walked up to Jake's side and gave him a kiss on the cheek, not because she hoped it would bother Javier, but because she appreciated Jake's honesty about what she had done.
"I'm sorry," she simply said and left the restaurant to the door that lead to the hall with the kitchen and the bathrooms. She stopped in the hall and waited outside the kitchen and shortly after the waiter came out with another order. She simply smiled at him and then she changed the thought she had given him before. The waiter stopped for a second, before he moved out and into the restaurant. Leona leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes, she seriously needed to pull herself together, maybe if she went to the bathroom.

She went through the door where it said Ladies on a sign and walked over to the huge mirror and looked at herself, who had she become to do something like this. She sighed and leaned slightly forward, placing her hands on the sink table in front of her. She had to confront Javier about everything at some point, she wanted him to go far far away. And Nora, the beautiful Nora. Why did life have to be so complicated, she thought as she stood there in the bathroom.

javier watched as the waiter brought her out the dinner he had ordered for her and she told him to put it on javiers bill. he just laughed before turning his attention back to his daughter.

" i must agree with you about the japanese art" he said with a smile. and not to long after he watched leona get up and out back.

"we used to be very close dear, but it's been some time since we've seen each other" he said before taking a bite of his food.

"im glad you like it, only the best for my little girl" he said. he then took his first sip of wine. it was just as he had remembered it as he used to drink it back before he and leona got married.

"the wine is just as exquisite as i remember it" he said with a smile.

Nora kept her eyes focused on her food as she listened to what Javier said, she looked up when she felt Leonas presence drifting away. She looked back towards Leonas table and caught her walking towards the bathroom, looking back to Javier she smiled, "I hope they liked what you ordered for them. It has to be good since this meal is so divine." she said. Taking a couple more bites and a sip of wine she stood up. "Pardon me, I have to go freshen up." she said as she grabbed her purse and headed towards the bathroom before her dad could say anything else.
Walking into the bathroom she saw Leona looking at herself in the mirror. Shutting the door she put her hands on her hips and looked at the woman "When exactly are you planning on telling me that you are my mother? Father won't say it and he is oblivious to the fact that I already know, are you planning on hiding it also." she said as she moved so there was no escape for Leona, she would have to stay and listen. "Actually I think it is quite foolish how the both of ya'll are acting tonight, father all green with jealousy and you getting so flustered with what he does. Ya'll are both getting at each other for some unknown reason. How are you by the way? Never had the opportunity of meeting you before." she added as she leaned against the bathroom wall. She would have to make it quick because it never took her long to 'freshen up'.

Leona could sense her daughter before she heard her or saw her. Now she was looking at Nora through the mirror, before she turned around to face her daughter, the one she had left as a baby.
"I imagined this day would come, although I had hoped it would come at a better time," Leona said and looked at Nora. She leaned up against the sink table and crossed her arms.
"I would have told you myself at some point, when it would be safe, but since you've been very persistent on knowing I guess it can't be hidden anymore," Leona said and knew that Laurant would be able to get to these memories, he would know she had a daughter.
"And as for your father that's between him and me. It's got nothing to do with you. We've always been like that and well the fact that he's shown up here and not keeping you away from me as I wanted him to, well.....," Leona said, but didn't really finish the sentence, what should she tell Nora? That it was dangerous for her to be around her mother? Why worry her, Leona would protect Nora no matter what, no one should ever lay a hand on Nora, no one. Leona walked over to the door where Leonora had blocked it, so Leona could leave.
"And as for how I'm feeling? Well I would be a lot better if you stayed as far away from me as possible, if anything happened to you.....," Leona said and looked into Nora's eyes, they were about the same height and she could see so much of herself in her. Just the thought of how Nora had found her impressed her, worried yes, but impressed. Then she placed her hand on Nora's cheek and stroke it, she hadn't touched her since that day where she had left Javier and Nora.
"Even though I had to watch you grow up from afar it's been good to know you've been safe, but you can't stay here. I won't be able to keep you safe, my life is too complicated and I don't want it put on you. You're still a kid, just leave town and take your father with you," Leona said and moved her hand and looked at the door and then at Nora.
"Is it possible to get out? I think that your father and my friend will be wondering what's keeping us," she said. Through out it all, she had spoken in a low but yet distinguished tone and she had sadness in her eyes. Leona couldn't give in for what she wanted to do right now, which was to hold Nora in her arms and never let her go, luck her up in a tower and throw away the key if it meant she would be safe.

"I wanted to come here... he had no idea I knew of you being here. Now that I am here you are asking me leave, I cannot do that." she told Leona. Nora gripped the handle in her hand as she looked in her moms eyes, there was no way that she was going to leave especially if things were complicated. This was a time when her mom needed her help, whether she wanted it or not. Nora gave Leona a hug and kissed her cheek "I'm not going anywhere." she whispered before releasing her of the hug and walking out of the bathroom. She made her way back to her seat giving Javier a smile before beginning to eat again.

javier smiled at nora as she sat back down at her seat. he knew what she had just done by the look on her face.

"so how is your mother enjoying her dinner" he said to her as he took another sip of his wine.he then decided to try and explain everything to her.

"your mother does love you dear but she is afraid if you and i are close to her then we will be in danger" he said to her. he figured if she already knew why not let her know everything.

"and my dear, i know the reason you wanted to move here was to see your mother and i had already confronted her earlier this month about arranging a meeting for you so that you could meet your real mother" he said hoping that Nora wouldnt flip out on him for not telling her sooner.

Leonora looked at her father "So you let me find out all of this stuff on my own and you allowed me to think that I was going behind your back, which I hate doing, when you knew all along." she said, she was a little upset. She knew that she couldn't be though because after all she had been going behind his back. Letting out a sigh she sat back in her chair. "I didn't ask her about dinner. She told me to leave and take you with me but I told her I am not going anywhere." she told Javier. Finishing her glass of wine she looked at Javier, there was a hint of a smile on her face as she looked at him.

javier smiled at her "honey that portrait of me and your mother wasnt accidently left lying around, i had it shipped here from france for you my dear" he said as he poured himself another glass of wine.

"i've been leaving you little bits of info about her for years hoping that you would figure it out, i promised your mother i would not tell you she was your mother but seeing as you 'found out' on your own i didnt break that promise now did I" he smirked

Leona tried to pull herself together after Nora had left the ladies room, but she had a hard time doing so. She was just about to open the door when it came, the unbelievable pain like someone was piercing her brain with daggers. She stumbled backwards and started to get the image of Nora standing in the bathroom with them talking for her closed eyes, which she pressed together. She tried to shut off her mind, but she failed as usual. Why couldn't she close her mind, why did he have to get in there and snoop around. She hadn't been able to shut out her thoughts as well as she thought lately and it was like there was a full front attack on her mind.
"JAKE!!!!!," Leona screamed in a tone that would catch all vampires attention within the restaurant perimeter. She fell to the floor as she held on her head and it felt like it was going to explode. She could hear Laurant inside her head, this time as Nora's voice, she started to panic. He would not get near her daughter and when she thought that she would kill him single handed if he touched her, all she could hear a cold laughter inside her head.

Jake was starting to get worried about Leona and was already on his way towards the hallway that lead to the kitchen and bathrooms, when he heard his name being yelled. He ran through the door and towards the ladies room and opened the door with a slam as it hit the wall. He saw Leona kneeling on the floor and with her hands holding her head. He ran over to her and knelt down, while taking out his cell phone and dialed Leo's number.
"Get to MaVille now, it's Leona," he said and hang up.
"Leona, you have to snap out of it. Lea, can you hear me?" Jake asked and turned her head so he could look into her eyes.
"Lea, look at me," he said and tried to get eye contact with her, but her eyes couldn't focus at all. At this moment all he could do was wait for Leo and hope he could shut off her mind, he was the only one who could.

javier was finnally sitting down and enjoying his dinner when he heard lea scream. he was up and out of his chair with lightning speed and bolted for the bathroom where he found leona on the floor. he pushed jake out of his way and went to her side and took her in his arms.

"you can fight him lea,he may be powerfull but i know you better than anyone and your determination always pulls you through" he said holding her. he was scared at the moment but he did not show any emotion to anyone but lea and even then it was just that of a comforting look for a mere second.

Leona hated to feel weak and that was exactly how she felt at that moment. She had tried to focus on Jake, but couldn't, all she could hear Laurant whispering in her mind and she got slightly confused when suddenly the blurring vision of Jake abruptly disappeared and someone held her. Right there and then her vision started to clear up, she heard Jaja's voice in her ear and she knew that it was him who had come, but how did he know that someone was meddling with her mind. Then it cleared for her, of course he know Lestat and Laurant. Lestat was his Sire, just as Lestat was hers. They had put him on an assignment to get her fall in love with him, Javier had to make her believe that they would become man and wife that everything would be okay, but things had turned out differently. He had been there that night when the attack had happened, she had thought he had lost his life as well as her family, but it wasn't until the Second World War she found out that he had not been the man she thought she knew. She can still remember that day where the leader of the resistance movement had introduced her to a Javier, the leader had not even mentioned the name before Leona had said it as soon she saw Javier. He had tried to explain himself, but she didn't want to listen, not until he mentioned Lestat. When he told her what had been going on, all she could do was loath Lestat even more, using one of his fledgelings to get to a human. Of course Lestat hadn't thought that this male fledgling would fall in love with the human woman. And as soon Leona had been turned had Javier been sent away, far far away so she wouldn't get suspicious and of course so Lestat could have her all to himself.

Time had past, things had changed and so had Leona. Over the last 200 years, Leona had grown more and more cold, she didn't let people in very easily because she knew she would just get hurt and she hated that feeling. Being cold and distant was the only way to get through life, then she had to love from afar, she had given up her happiness so others could be safe and away from her. She had tried it with Leo, which didn't work out in the long run, she had done it with Javier and Nora and now it looked like that would fall to the ground as well. Why couldn't people just do what she said so she could sleep more easily at night and she wouldn't get these what ever they were.
"That's the point I can't, I can't keep him out. I can lock certain emotions away, but lately the attacks have been more powerful and now with Nora, it's too fresh I haven't been able to lock it away. He knows she exists and he's coming after her now," Leona said in an extremely low voice, she sounded tired and she felt tired, but the attack had stopped the moment she felt Javier's arms around her or was it when he entered the room? She didn't know, but why, how could that be. Only Leo had been able to close her mind. She turned her head so she could look at Javier, she looked curious into his dark eyes as in hope she could find an answer in there, but then she turned away and remembered that he hadn't told her about his. He hadn't mentioned that Laurant could get into her mind.
"You've known that he can get into my mind all these years and it hadn't occurred you to mention it to me. I've told you about them, thinking I was going mad. I told you about that time where I was locked up, but you didn't bother to tell me that Laurant was behind it all?" Leona said, her voice starting to get louder and louder. Then she turned around and looked at Jake, before she shoved him out of the bathroom and closed and locked the door after her, so she was now alone with Javier in the ladies bathroom of all places. She placed her head on the door, trying to get her thoughts together.
"If I had known this sooner, then maybe....it wouldn't have come to this," she said and turned around and looked at Javier.
"If I had known, we might have gotten rid of them and I wouldn't have stood here in this god forsaken bathroom talking to you or having our daughter looking me up, because I left her as a baby," Leona said as she walked closer to Javier. She didn't stop until she stood right in front of him and looked up at his face.
"I.......," Leona said, but she didn't know what else she could say. She sighed, she noticed there were some puffs where the women could sit if the cubicles were busy, she felt like sitting right now, so she walked over and sat down and placed her head in her hands and with her elbows on her knees she tried to collect her thoughts. Once again Javier had managed to keep something from her.
"You don't still work under their orders do you? If you do I want to know, I can't handle more secrecy from you right now. I could forgive you back then when you told me that you had pursued me after their order, but you didn't manage to come clean with the fact that you knew Laurant could get into my mind. I'm having a real hard time to find any forgiveness this time, so you better come up with the right answer or I can't see why I should ever find any room for you in my life," Leona said and looked up at Javier. If she looked like she felt, then it would be clear to everyone that she was close at getting her heart broken for good. This was the time for Javier to really step up and show that he generally had made a mistake, it was time to get all cards on the table to let Leona know if he was still working for Lestat and Laurant or not. It was time for Leona to know where she had him, what else came after that well she had to deal with it when she got to it, but now she waited for an answer from the man she had thought she knew, then learned to know, but apparently didn't know at all after all.

Leonora had jumped up when she heard the scream, it took her a couple of seconds to register it as her mom. When it did register she moved to the back bathrooms, standing just outside the door as she watched what was taking place. There was a slight fear in her eyes as she watched Leona breaking down, she was hearing voices. Apparently now Nora was in danger, someone was coming for her. Nora was just about to enter the bathroom when the werewolf was pushed out, knocking her back as the door slammed shut and locked. Looking at the man she leaned against the wall "Mind telling me whats happening." she said.

Jake had looked interesting at Leona when she suddenly had pushed him out of the bathroom, so she could be alone with Javier. Out in the hallway he leaned up against the wall and it wasn't until he heard a female voice that he noticed Nora.
"Oh, I don't know if it's my place to tell. Your mother would kill me, literally," he said and chuckled a little about the whole thing, sure it was tragic that Laurant now had found out about Nora.
"I'm Jake by the way, a friend of your mother and only that. I've decided long time ago, never to try and understand Leona when it comes to Javier, so ....." Jake said and looked at the closed door before he turned his attention to Nora.
"And you are of course Nora, Leona told me all about you. She told me that you were close to finding her and I guess you did when you saw her here today. You know, you could be a really good tracker, if you ever need a job, then let me know. But then again Leona would probably kill me for telling you that as well," Jake said and then shrugged his shoulders and gave Nora a smile. What on earth happened behind that door as women started to come from time to time to use the facilities he simply convinced them that the toilet was out of order and asked them to use the handicap toilet, which was in the other end of the restaurant.

"Well apparently my father was the one dropping clues so I must not be very good at the whole tracking thing. Tell me more though... I won't tell Leona if you don't tell her you told." she said with a small smile. There was curiosity in her eyes as she sat up from leaning on the wall. Jake was easy on the eyes but she knew as soon as she caught his scent that her mom wasn't really seeing him. She was hoping that her thoughts were right because she knew how her father still cared for Leona, her thoughts were now confirmed. She twirled a strand of hair around her finger as she waited for Jake to answer her.

Jake chuckled a little when Nora mentioned that she wouldn't say anything to Leona if he didn't.
"Sorry kid, but one of the things I'm not jeopardizing is by not telling Leona what's going on, so you won't hear anything from me," he said and looked at the young vampiress. He had always been honest and never kept anything away from Leona, he learned that pretty early that if you wanted to stay on her good side you should never keep secrets.
"But I can tell you this much, she's got a memory like an elephant, she doesn't forget anything and if someone has told her lies or haven't been honest with her then these people will have to work really hard to gain her trust. You could say that she builds a relationship on trust and honesty and well she's been relying on people who she trusted and then got hurt in the process. Your father being one of them, I think that during the war she managed to trust him again, but as it sounds now, he might just not get back in at all if he's not told her everything after all," Jake said and turned his attention back to the bathroom door. He wanted Leona to be happy and from what he had observed all these years where he has known her, then Javier is the one who keeps haunting her.
"As I mentioned before I'm trying to keep myself out of Leona's love life, but I do know that your father has always been the one she's always had some kind of connection with. I wouldn't exactly call them soul mates, they fight too much for that, but they've got a connection. Don't put so much in their fighting as you will experience no matter what. I think Javier likes to tease Leona and she can't have that, but that's just what I've found out when I've heard from Leona. Never met your father in person until today, only heard about him through Leona," Jake said and turned his attention back to Nora.
"But you have to understand your mother had her reasons for leaving you back then, there are ghosts in her past and your father's past who haunts her and they are finally catching up on her and these ghosts will go after everything she loves which includes you. You're just a kid, you don't know these ghosts but they are circling around this town and soon we all have to face them," Jake said, he knew he sounded extremely dramatic by referring the Bodouar twins and Alastair as ghosts, but he didn't want to say too much.

"Well then I guess it is a good thing that I have been brushing up on my fighting." she said, a mischevious look in her eyes. She was a little bummed about Jake not telling her about the trackers, she figured she would just ask her mother then. It did s0und quite interesting. She looked back at the door, she could make out the faint voices coming from in there. Letting out a sigh she ran her fingers through her hair "How long do you think they will be in there?" she asked Jake as she moved towards the door. She grew really quiet as she pressed her ear to it, trying to catch bits and pieces of their conversation.

javier just looked at lea. "i didnt tell you before, because at the time you were going through so much and i didnt want to worry you anymore than i already had by telling you about his abilities, the time was just not right then" he said as he got up off the floor. when she asked if he still worked for them he looked at her like she was insane.

"i have not worked for them since they tried to kill me for falling for you love" he said.

"i was only supposed to get you to help, and when i fell in love with you the twins saw me as a threat and sent their best after me" he said as he looked at lea.

"if i had told you that they were behind it do you really think you would have believed me, and even if you did do you think you would have stayed with me being i used to work so closely with them" he said as he walked over to her side and put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"our daughter will be fine,you know better than anyone that i can hold my own, and i will let nothing to happen to her" he said standing next to her.

"and i know you may hate me now but i hope someday you will understand why i did what i did" he said as he took his hand off her shoulder and leaned against the wall.

Leona tried to think clearly, but it was hard for her. All she could think of the fact that Javier once again had kept something from her. She hated to be kept in the dark, it was her only way to still have some kind of control over herself. If she didn't know everything she was always afraid she would do something she would regret doing later. She closed her eyes and leaned up against the wall.
"I thought you knew me by now, I don't like to be kept in the dark. Especially something as important as this," Leona said calmly and looked up at Javier. He was just as handsome as he'd always been, she gave him a little smile before she got up on her feet and face Javier and for the first time in what felt like ages she touched his face.
"We might have our fights and I can live with that, but if you ever want any chance with me, you need to be honest with me, don't keep anything else from me when it comes to the Bodouar twins or trust me I will beat you to a pulp," Leona said, her words sounded serious but her eyes said something else, she teased. Then she turned around and walked over to the door and unlocked it so she could open it, but as she did she got a bit of a shock to see Nora.
"Nora, I sure hope you weren't eavesdropping, it's not suited for a lady," she said and looked sternly at her daughter, before she turned her head and looked at Javier and winked at him and a little smile before she turned her gaze to Nora and then to Jake and sent him a look that he knew what meant before she turned her attention to Javier.
"Do you mind Jake and I join you at your table, we need to talk," Leona said and once again looked serious at Javier. She had questions and she hoped Javier now could come in use. They needed to discuss this and maybe it would be best if Nora knew what was going on, she needed to know the truth about them and about her and not to mention she needed Jake's help about something.
"But just so you know, this doesn't change anything between us, you've still got some proving to do," Leona said and pointed her finger at Javier as if that would make her point of view on them stronger.

javier smiled at leona as she got up "i know you dont like secrets but it was a long time ago my dear,things wernt like they are now" he said as he followed leona out of the bathroom.

"of coarse i dont mind you joining us" he said as he walked out and headed to the table with leona and nora.

he got the waiters attention and told him to transfer everything to their table and to bring out extra place settings for leona and jake.

"i know you dont trust me fully anymore but i will tell you that i have not kept anything from you other than that, i have always been up front with you" he said as he took a seat back at the table.

Nora straigthened up as Leona opened door and she shook her head no repeatedly when she was asked if she was eavesdropping. Nora walked back to the table with them, she smiled when Leona mentioned sitting with them. She took her seat and smiled at Leona and Jake as they joined her table, she had a feeling she was about to get filled in on a bunch of things that had been happening lately. Finishing her food she poured herself another glass of wine and sat back in her seat to listen intently to what was going to be said, she kept her gaze locked on her mom as she took a sip of wine and waited.

Leona sat down by the table, she thought it was on its place to introduce the two men to each other.
"Jake this is Javier, Javier this is Jake. Think I mentioned him to you once," Leona said and looked over at Javier. She didn't want to see anymore jealous trips from Javier.
"And with that out of the way, we better get started on business," Leona said and looked all business like at everyone around the table.
"I think it's best if we tell Nora what's been going on," she said and looked from the guys and to her daughter and gave her a little smile.
"Well I guess we better start with the beginning when I was still human, your father was already a vampire, but he worked for some bad vampires at the time. And they are basically after me, because I ran away from them after I was turned, well two years after I was turned," Leona said and glanced back at Javier for a second before she turned her attention back to Nora.
"Recently it's come to my attention that one of these guys can enter my mind and just now, he managed to find out that you exist, which I've tried to prevent all these years, but what's done is done and you are now the clear target so they can get to me," Leona said, she could just as well say it as it was. If Nora got scared, good. If not, then Leona would lock her in a tower if she had to.
"I have to admit though, this time was really bad. You don't think it's because you know what?" Leona asked and looked at Jake and sent him a look, hoping he understood what she was talking. Javier didn't know about her new found abilities and she rather not wanted him to find out. It was bad enough that she had the same ability as Laurant, not to mention that she had used it on the waiter as well. She was sure that would make him angry and she really wasn't up to another fight with him right now.
"It's just weird how bad it's gotten since that day when I was with Artemys. Anyways that's how things are now and we are pretty sure that Laurant is in Carpe Noctum," Leona said and now moved her attention to Javier to see what he expression was to that. She really wanted to trust him, but right now she was so unsure about everything and having Javier and Nora around as well, just made her stress out even more. That was when a light turned on in her head, she had gotten the bad attacks when she had been emotional, great did that mean she had to turn off her feelings completely. And why did it end so quickly when first Javier entered the bathroom? Leona thought.

Javier looked at his daughter. "back then you wouldnt have even recognized me, i was a money hungry,house wrecking killer" he said as he glanced at leona.
"im not proud of my past but that all chanced with your mother, i decided that i wanted to settle down with her but the twins had other plans for me" he said as he took a sip of his wine.

"i told them i was done being their pawn and well lets just say thats not something you say to them" he said watching his daughters reaction.

"so when i left they sent men after me, but i didnt get to be their deathbringer by sitting around drinking tea. so i took their men out with relative ease. and after that i dropped off the grid untill now" he said with a smile.

Both her father and her mother's combat skills must be where she got hers too then. She looked at her father, trying to imagine what he had been like back then... no she would not have recognized him. "Can you tell me more about these twins?" she asked. Curious about the people who used to have so much power over her father and mother. She could feel a deep hate for them within her and she imagined that soon she would see them. If they could get in Leonas head then they could get into anyones... she did not know what she would do if she ran into them on the street.

Jake had left the talking to Leona and Javier, but when Nora asked about the twins, he didn't hesitate to answer the question.
"They managed to kill all their siblings after they were turned except from one, your great grandmother. She was an extremely good witch and she managed to keep them on a distance until she died of an illness. The twins never forgot the humiliation they felt over the fact that they couldn't get your great grandmother, so they swore that any relatives to her would feel their rage, so basically the Nóillión family has been marked. Your father who's a relative to them as well was lured into their world of money and women and later blood lust. They tend to go straight to the bone, when they first have marked a person as their target they don't rest until they've done everything to make that person crumble and beg for mercy and join them," Jake said and looked at the three before he continued.
"You see your mother comes from a family who comes from a long line of witches, and well lately we've discovered that the Nóillión family have their own kind of abilities. No sign on witchcraft as far as we know, but we've found similarities between what the Bodouar twins can do and certain members of the Nóillión family can do," he said and glanced at Leona.

"Do you think we could use witchcraft still?" she asked, it would be very cook if they could. She figured that witchcraft ran in the blood of the family so somebody had to be able to use it.... she hoped. She fiddled with her napkin as she thought more about it, they were related to these two twins. She didn't like that fact very much. She took a sip of wine and looked around the resteraunt. She looked at Jake, he seemed to know a lot of information, she wanted to find out everything he knew and she didn't care how long that would take.

Leona stared madly at Jake, why did he have to talk so much. She didn't want them to know that she could do the same thing as Laurant could, she felt like it was a curse she had been given. Sure Javier knew about the mind connection she had with her twin brother, but he didn't know what she had found out about only a couple of weeks ago and she didn't want him to know now. When Nora asked if they still could use witchcraft in the family, Leona turned her attention back to her daughter.
"I don't know. Our mother never introduced it to us, it wasn't until after I was turned I even found out that my mother was a witch and it's not until recently I found out that it's gone down in generations. I think that we all have some sort of ability, but not necessarily magic in our blood," Leona said and looked at Nora.
"I doubt you're a witch if that's what you're thinking, I've never shown any signs, so you shouldn't have them either, but there is a possibility that you will have a psychic ability like I have. When you were first born, you didn't want to eat, I tried everything, the nurses couldn't help either and I remember that I held you in my arms and looked into those big eyes of yours. I was just staring and I was thinking that you were the most beautiful creature I had ever seen and that if you wanted to get big you had to eat. I never said anything, I only thought about it and when I tried shortly after you started eating. I was just happy that you finally got something down that I didn't think more about it and after I left, well somehow I knew that you were alright. So maybe we have some kind of mind connection you and I, just like I have with my twin brother," Leona said and sent Nora a smile. Then she took her hand and looked into her eyes. Leona thought about a letter she had written to Nora shortly before Leona had left her and Javier and where she had hid it. She didn't do what she would have done to an outside and put the mind into the person's mind, she simply thought about it in her own mind without transferring it. If there truly was a connection between her and Nora, Nora would catch the images.

"No I don't think I'm a witch, but witchcraft could be very helpful to us in this situation with those twin fellows." she said. When Leona took her hand Nora was baffled, she looked at her mom for a second before looking away and closing her eyes. There was a small pain in her head that she used to believe were just minor migraines. After all the pain though were images and thoughts that were not hers. She looked at Leona again a hint of a smile on her face as she finally realized what had always been happening.

A smile appeared on Leona's face when she saw Nora's expression, then she nodded.
"You're right, witchcraft could be useful and believe me we try all possible solutions at the moment, so far without any success," Leona said and turned her attention to Javier, who had been unnervingly quiet the whole time.
"You're being awfully quiet, normally you can't keep your mouth shut," Leona said with her usual irritating way she could behave around Javier.
"Or is this a new side to you, and I who didn't think you couldn't improve," Leona said with a slight smirk on her face. She couldn't help it, she had to go at it.

Jake had fallen into his own thoughts, thinking of what had happened back in the bathroom and the fact that Leona seemed a lot better, in fact she seemed more relaxed than she had been long lately. He couldn't help but look from Leona to Javier and back again.
"I'm sorry, but I've just remembered that I have to do something, so eh I better go," Jake said and got up from his chair and looked at the three others, then he turned to Leona and whispered something in her ear, then he sent the two others a smile and walked out of the restaurant, he needed to check something and he knew that he would pay for leaving Leona back there with Javier, but Nora was there, so he was sure Leona could manage to act civil, at least he hoped so.
