The house had really been decorated for Christmas without overdoing it, cookies were done and ready for Christmas as well and her final exam was finished and she could finally call herself a college graduate, which was a little weird, so she was officially on maternity leave now. So for once she actually did nothing what so ever, which meant lying on the couch and reading a book when she heard a knock on the door. Great now the trouble was to get up. She closed the book and lied it on the coffee table and somehow managed to swing her legs over the edge of the couch and somehow roll off and get up that way with a loud groan. She stretched her back a little before she headed out to the door and opened it. A bright smile spread on her face when she saw who it was. "Meg, come on in," she said moved aside and opened the door so Meg could step inside. Bonnie felt a little guilty she hadn't been doing that much teaching the last month, but with the attack on her, the false labour, exam and all she had been under a lot of stress and she had promised both the doctor and AJ that she would take it easy, which she was trying to do.

Bonnie closed the door after Meg and lead her to the kitchen. It was easier for Bonnie to get up from a kitchen table than the couch or an armchair these days. "About five more weeks to go actually," she said with a smile, she couldn't believe that she was coming to an end with the whole pregnancy thing, although at this moment in time she would gladly have the baby now if it was. The stomach was starting to get a bit of an obstacle. "I was doing nothing but lie on the couch and read a book, and I like visits. Especially when I barely leave the house these days," she said with a chuckle and gestured towards the kitchen chairs, Bonnie took a seat on one and pulled another one up and placed her legs on it and made herself comfortable as she folded her hands on top of her stomach.

When Meg brought up the attack a dark shadow fell over Bonnie's face. "Yeah, I was out collecting some things down by the creek when I came across a dark warlock I've been having some problems with the last couple of months. We fought and I ended up at the hospital in the process and now I'm order on plenty of rest and no stress what so ever by the doctor and my boyfriend," she said, a smile appeared on her face when she said the word boyfriend. For some reason when ever AJ was mentioned there was this warmth that appeared in her eyes. "So if you ever come across a warlock that goes by the name of Aidan, stay away, he's bad news, been warning everyone about him, but he's sneaky, I've tried to nail him or at least get him to turn, so far without luck I'm afraid," she said and looked over at Meg. "Anyway, enough about that. What about you, have you been practising?" she asked and looked curiously at Meg. She didn't really want to talk more about Aidan, it just made her tense up and that was usually the start for her abilities to run wild.

A soft smile spread on Bonnie's face when Meg mentioned AJ as a nice man. "Well he's been really great the last couple of months, so I would say he is," she said with a chuckle. When Meg said that she would help her get things if she needed it, Bonnie sent her a wide smile. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks," she said. She hated being a burden to AJ and her dad and she had felt that old paranoia she had suffered from preciously that year had returned, she didn't like to go anywhere on her own. "And I'm glad to hear that you're practising. I wish we could have had more lessons together, but after Jamie is born I'll be more up for it," she said with a chuckle. "Now the more theoretical part of magic I can handle at the moment, so we can cover that," she said and sent Meg a smile, she rubbed her stomach a little when Jamie was being active in there. "Never use your magic for your own gain or to do something bad. The Universal Energies will not be pleased, after all our magical abilities come from them. If a witch or warlock has done something bad, they will speak to me and I have to deal with it. In worst case if the witch or warlock choose not to change her or his way, the Energies will take action," she explained as she looked over at Meg.

Bonnie nodded at Meg's last remark. "Let me give you an example. That day where I fought that warlock," she said and moved a little on the chair. "In the end the Universal Energies took over my body and when I placed my hand on his chest, they sent jolts of electricity into his heart as a warning for what he had done. You see I'm serving the Energies, they can take over my body when ever they feel like it and no one attacks a High Priestess without getting punished. It was his final warning, if he didn't stop what he's planning to do, then they will finish him off," she said and went quiet for a moment before she continued. "It might sound a bit cruel, but there is a natural order in life and in magic. You can't abuse it, there are spells so dark that it goes against the natural order. At some point I will go more into detail when it comes to those, cause you need to know about them," she said and went quiet so Meg could let everything she had said so far sink in.

Bonnie had to admit, Meg was an eager learner and when she heard her question about spells she smiled a little. "Experimenting, just like with remedies and potions," she started. She took her legs down from the chair they had been resting on and placed a hand on the table so she could push herself up before she moved over to the sink where she put some water over so it could boil. "Of course you don't just put words together and then have a spell on your hands, there are several factors you have to think about. Firstly, what kind of spell is it, is it a minor spell or a very difficult spell," she said and moved back to her seat. It wasn't exactly the easiest to explain as spells were very complex. "Secondly, what exactly is it you want to accomplish with the spell? Thirdly, spells usually comes with a kind of ceremony involved where you need certain magical items, herbs, candles that sort of thing," she said and placed her arms in front of her at the table and looked at Meg. "Normal humans can't just perform a spell, why? Because they can't tap into the Universal Energies as we can. They can follow the description completely and they won't succeed. Our magic goes way back and it is moved on to the next generation, because we have the magic in us, we can get help from the Energies to perform these spells and to do so we have to show them honour. That is usually done by lighting a white candle or using a witch circle and they help us to perform the spell. That is why there is usually a candle or a witch circle involved," Bonnie explained and paused for a moment. "Dark magic is something completely different, it's not quite clear where it come from, but there are myths that's been told. I don't know if you've heard the story that Adam, the first man on Earth had a wife before Eve, well the tale goes that all dark magic comes from her. Of course this is just one of many stories there are. Just like the Universal Energies is God or what ever you want to call it. The Energies isn't something you can see or touch, they can be heard though. I can hear them speak to me right now and it can be a bit daunting to hear whispers in your ear all the time," she said with a chuckle. She wasn't sure if she made much sense, and she just might have trailed off on Meg's actual question in the end. When the water boiled she moved over and made some tea and returned with a pot of tea, two mugs and a plate with Christmas cookies and placed it all on the table. She poured some tea up to both Meg and herself and grabbed a cookie as well.

Bonnie smiled a little when she heard Meg's question. "Yes you will need something from the person, but I hope you won't try and curse anyone, curse can quickly backfire," she said and gave Meg a raised eyebrow. "A couple of months ago I was experimenting, I like to try my potions and such on myself first. I had put a lock of AJ's hair in the potion and well it was great at first and then it turned sour and well I got really sick in the process," she said. It had not been pleasant and they had with advice from the doctor decided that she shouldn't do any more experimenting while she was pregnant, it was too risky.

Bonnie shrugged her shoulders a little and sent Meg a smile. "I was experimenting, half the time I have no clue what I make and this was one of the times. So I wanted to see what happened if I put some of AJ's hair in and well I don't want to go into details, but we didn't get much sleep that night. The next day I couldn't even wake up, in the end AJ had to take me to the medical centre to have me checked over," she said with a slight chuckle. Sure they had had a lot of fun him and her, but the aftermath was not something she wanted. "I had to go on iron tablets after that as it had screwed up my blood count and after that the doctor and AJ thought that I shouldn't experiment while I was pregnant, so haven't done it since, all though I'm itching to get back to it. It's some of the most fun stuff is to experiment with magic, of course it can be dangerous if you're not careful, so until you know the basics of it all then I won't advice you to do it," she said and took a sip of her tea and another cookie, gesturing Meg to do the same. "Oh I have a little present for you actually," Bonnie said and got up and disappeared from the kitchen only to return shortly after with a Christmas present. It was a magic journal, engraved and all. She gave it to Meg as she took a seat again. "Hope you like it. My grandmother gave me one a couple of years back, thought it was only right you had one as well," she said and sent Meg a big smile.

Bonnie chuckled at Meg's reaction to her present. "Well it was that or a herb set of some sort. You can write any magical discoveries you make, spells you might come up with, potions. Important things you want to remember about magic," she said with a wide smile, returning the hug she was given. "As for the tea, then it's my own brew, I like to use my own herbs and fruits," she explained. "By using the right herbs you can make an amazing tea that will make your cold go away or your headache for example," she said. "Adding ginger, camomile and mint is great if you have a cold," she explained. "This one got dried black currant, raspberries and cranberries in it," Bonnie said and took another sip of her tea. "Magic is more than just spells, sure we use the herbs in our spells, but they are just as powerful on their own without saying some incantation," she said and looked over at Meg. If you didn't want to hear about herbs you should never get Bonnie started, cause she could talk for hours about herbs and their healing abilities.

Bonnie gave Meg a warm smile, Bonnie liked to treat the people around her and the least she could give her apprentice was a Christmas present, even if it was for magic. "Well I hope so, I plan on making a living out of herbs, I've spoken to one of my witch friends about opening a shop where we sell herbal remedies and such alongside with magic supplies, so if you need a part time job, just let me know, we might need the extra help. As I'm planning on only working part time, so I can spend time with my daughter and then I'll be able to work at home, making herbal remedies and that sort of things," she said with a smile. She hadn't mentioned it to AJ yet, she wanted everything ready before she mentioned anything, but she couldn't wait to get started.
