Carpe Noctum

Jack had been back in Carpe Noctum for about a week or so and for the first time he was going on patrol on his own without Hex. The patrols that Leona had asked them to do, keeping an eye on what was going on in the down town area. It was terribly hot, so he hadn't bothered putting on his leather jacket. He had taken his motorcycle and headed down to where he had heard a drag race would take place. He wasn't planning on driving himself this time, but he wanted to check out the place just to make sure there weren't any of the vamps he was on the lookout for. As he reached the street, he slowly drown down the street past all the cars that had been parked, some with their hoods up, guys and a couple of women too showing off their engines. Jack's eyes scanned over the area, until he noticed someone he had met before. He could remember who she was, but she had been at the cemetery when he had his first encounter with Flame. The latest meeting with his old friend had resulted in a nice scar on the side right above his hip, where a claw mark was. Of course it was hidden under the black sleeveless shirt he was wearing. The only thing you could see were his two tattoos, one on each upper arm and the partly the one he had on the left side of his chest and some of the large back tattoo he had, where as all the scars he had gotten over the last couple of months were well hidden. He parked his motorcycle by the curve and jumped off before he headed towards the woman who was registering for a race. "Fancy seeing you here. A Beta Female, breaking the law," he said quietly into her ear before he moved back and sent her a smirk. Of course he was a gamma, but at least he wasn't driving, this time.

Jack followed Lexi over to her car and took a round around it, nodding approvingly before he took a stand before Lexi, his hands in his pockets and briefly looked in the direction of the guy with the women. He chuckled a little as they hurried away after Lexi had spoken to the guy. "You know even if you do win, he won't back down, not now," he said and turned his attention back to Lexi, he had a serious expression on his face now. "And don't try and call him by his real name, it might work once, but if you continue doing it, you'll just piss him off and I have no interest in pulling you two apart," Jack said, but then he sighed and turned his attention to some of the other cars. He could smell the anticipation for the races in the air. "His name is Joseph Blackwolf, he can't handle the name Joe either. Anything remotely related to his real name and he can flip any second," Jack said and looked back at Lexi. "Don't underestimate him, I did that a couple of weeks ago, got me a nice mark to remember that for eternity. Nothing he can be punished for here as it was done when I was in another town. He's fast when it comes to racing. He'll always start out strong, so be quick from the beginning, don't let him get a head start or you'll never see him again. The car he's driving has a tendency to fall out during the end that is your moment to strike if you are still on the side of him, cause he'll be back in full speed in no time," Jack said, right now he was pretty much telling Lexi how to beat Flame. He looked around as if he wanted to be sure no one had just heard him, but everyone seemed to be pretty preoccupied with their own things. "Don't try and provoke him, it'll just end bad. He almost killed the alpha male in the town where I was born a couple of weeks ago and he would have killed me if a friend of mine hadn't chased him off. He's more dangerous than I first thought and I don't want anyone else to suffer, so don't try anything with him on your own. Race him that's fine, win that's fine, but I better warn you, he will come after you the moment you step out of the car, cause he'll be pissed. He doesn't loose well, if he doesn't get you tonight, he will try any possible way to come after you or your family. That's what he's been trying with me. He only looses if he can see a purpose with it and he doesn't in this case," Jack said, he was wondering how Flame was doing, cause he had managed to get a couple of blows in himself.

Jack remember when Flame tried to burn down the chief's house and the chief's daughter was sleeping inside. "I don't think he cares if it's children or grown ups he goes after," he said and turned his head a little as a familiar sound reached his ears. "Okay I better make myself invincible, he's coming. I'll be around," Jack said and then he headed off in between the people and the cars, so he would be out of sight, hopefully the other people's scent would get mixed with his own, so Flame wouldn't start thinking too much about him.
