Kalina was at the fair enjoying the sounds of people laughing and screaming on rides, the shouts of the carnies as they tried to attract people to their stands, the smell of all the fried foods, the flashing lights, and the loud music. It was something about this hectic scene that just had her heart pumping and her adrenaline rushing. Grabbing a thing of cotton candy she made her way to the merry-go-round. The carny there was about to object to her being barefoot but she sent him a sweet smile and he let her pass on through. Jumping up onto one of the horses just as it was about to start, letting her head fall back as she laughed and closed her eyes. She felt like a little kid again.

He had supposed that the root of his problem had been avoiding the majority of the locals, as opposed to blending in with them like he was supposed to. Sure, a night on the lake was fine every now and again, but it didn't fill the certain aching that had settled into his bones as of late. Marcello had scrubbed off the ceremonial blood off his face before he went back out. Smelling of bonfire, the werewolf took the one of the most crowded places he knew in the area. The fair.
People swelled around him in throngs. He thought about how it would feel to change just for an instant and spook a few of them, but he knew he had to keep his tail low if he wanted to keep his throat together. It was difficult to walk among so many sheep. That's why when he caught the smallest trace of werewolf over the waft of corn dogs and cheap beer, Marcello began to track the scent through the crowd, weaving among people like a wolf on a hunt. Marcello didn't even know why he wanted to find her. Maybe she would be interesting. Maybe she would want to fight, or cuddle, or ride the ferris wheel a time or two.
"There she is," He whispered to himself when he saw her. The lights of the ferris wheel illuminated the she-wolf clearly under the changing lights. Marcello walked up to the gate around the attraction and slung his body over it, slinking toward Kalina. The horse to her one side was unattended. Marcello slid into the saddle in that I'm-too-old-for-this sort of fashion and grinned at her. "I don't mean to bother you, but this is my first time being here. Crazy, right? I wanted to know what you think is the best ride."'Say me and I'll love you for life.'

Kalina's head turned at the sound of the voice beside her and smile appeared on her face as she looked at the male wolf. Sliding down the pole she sat on the horse cross-legged and shook out her hair. "I'm going to be completely honest with ya...the best ride isn't here." she told him with a spark in her eyes. Sure some of the rides here could be fun and give you butterflies but the best ride was outside of the fair grounds...technically it wasn't even a ride. Kalina was thinking of cliff diving, that always gave her a good thrill that no ride could give. Moving off of her horse she crossed the small step over to his and leaned on the horses head as she looked at the stranger. "Technically it isn't even a ride but it thrills me. Ever been cliff diving stranger?" she asked curiously.

"Cliff diving?"'Oh hell, I'll love you anyway.'"Just once, but it's been a longer time than I'd like to admit. I wouldn't mind doing it again."
He liked the way she moved, the light in her eyes, and he leaned on the painted neck of the horse as he considered her. Definitely a little wild. Maybe not as wild as Bells, but that was fine. Marcello found just as much delight in this stranger. Tracing his finger along the grooves of the sculpted mane, he let the amusement show through the darkness of his eyes.
"I don't suppose you know a spot, do you?" Marcello asked. Midnight swims might get his fur a little wet, but it was better than spending the night doing nothing. Maybe the crisp ocean water would even make him feel a bit like home, back on the wood shacks of Brazil.

Kalina smiled when he asked if she knew of a place. Leaning closer to him, their faces just inches apart, "Hope you can keep up." Kalina said with a smirk before turning away. Jumping off the moving ride she leaped over the gate and ran towards the forest, the crowd was nothing as she moved easily through them. Turning just once to see where he was. When she reached the tree line she shifted and took off running on all fours, it would be much faster that way. Her strides were long and she moved with great speed as she headed for the cliffs, Kalina went straight for the highest one. Skidding to a stop just as she reached the edge and shifted, looking down at the jagged rocks below that peaked through the water, it was rough out there tonight which would make for more fun. "Hope you don't mind the chill handsome." she said to Marcello as she glanced over her shoulder. Kalina considered taking her dress off so she would have something dry to put on after, her fingers running over the fabric as she moved to the very edge, her toes hanging off the edge.

"Try me," Marcello whispered. Then, like a little bare-footed wood nymph, she turned on her heel and darted away. 'How precious, I do adore a good chase.' He vaulted past the sea of confused stares in hot pursuit.
Following her was simple enough, given that she did want to be found. Marcello wove through the tapestry of trees once the edge of the woods engulfed him. He abandoned his human skin there. On four black-as-pitch paws the werewolf shortened the gap between himself and Kalina, pushing forward with wild abandon. His body tore through a bush and he stopped, panting happily, to find Kalina looking down over the edge. The wolf joined her. It was hard to tell water from rock in the inky blackness, but if you were going to go cliff diving in the first place, usually safety wasn't your top priority. The slap of waves on the cliff reminded him of fried fish and football.
"You're not one to mess around with the small stuff, are you?" He laughed. The wolf was now a man, smiling down at the boil beyond their feet. Marcello already worked to take his shirt off despite the slight April chill. This was the most excitement he'd seen in awhile and it hadn't even begun yet. "But I'll be fine so long as you can walk the walk, princess."

"No worries with that hun." Kalina said with a smirk as she pulled her dress up over her head, revealing her black undergarments. Dropping the dress to the ground beside his shirt she took a couple of steps back. Then she ran forward and swan dived off the cliff letting out a scream of pure excitement. She rushed towards the water and when she crashed through its surface the current quickly grabbed her and slammed her into one of the rocks. She broke through the surface and took a deep breath before the current pulled her back under, this was something that was always fun to fight against. Simming strongly she fought the current till she was back at a safe distance so Marcello could dive in.

Marcello took a brief moment to appraise Kalina in the moonlight, the way the moon brushed over the smooth curves, painting her outline. He would have to try and draw that later. Nature had a better knack for talent than he did, but he soaked in the details nonetheless. She was pleasing to the eye.
Then, whoosh, his model was gone, and Marcello walked over to the edge and tried to pick out the shape of her body from the whirlpool below. When he saw that she was safe the werewolf took a few steps back himself. He called upon his slim cliff diving experience, trying to let the old sensations wash over him. One breath, two breaths. Marcello angled his body before the launch. At one point his feet failed to meet solid ground, sending him into the air, diving toward the water below. It took longer than he originally thought it would to hit it. When his body made contact the rush swarmed all of his senses, filling his ears, biting his skin, pulling his hair. Instinctively he worked toward the surface. The waves fought back and tossed his body, but he clawed against them until sweet air poured into his lungs.
Marcello tread the water in place until he could find Kalina. "That was absolutely insane!" He howled over the water. The salt accumulated in his mouth. Marcello spat it out and laughed wildly. "Show me where we can get out and do it again!"

She watched as Marcello jumped and headed down towards the water. When he came over to her she swam closer to him, she brushed a strand of hair out of his face and smiled when he wanted to do it again. "Glad you like it." Kalina said before sinking beneath the water and swimming towards the rock wall a short distance away. There was a small over hang after you climbed up the wall about five feet. Searching for footing she climbed up the five feet and pulled herself up onto the over hang, there were scratches on her back fromt he rock she had run into and they stung some from the salt water but she ignored it. "Just climb on up and then you will see the path that leads back to the cliff." she shouted to Marcello before disappearing, he would find her at the cliff again.

Marcello noted how necessary it was to have a werewolf body here when he saw the cuts on her back; a human body would have been smashed to pieces on the rocks long before they could come up for air. It was a blessing to have that strength running through your veins. To make the impossible possible.
He hoisted his body up on the ledge and took a moment to breathe before working back up the trail. She had already been there, of course, waiting to have another go. Marcello traded skins. The wolf crept up until he was merely an arm's reach from her bare thigh and shook his fur, sending water droplets scattering everywhere. The curve of his black lips suggested a wolfish smile as Marcello bounded back a few steps to avoid retaliation. A safe distance away the wolf changed back into a man.
”I can see that you're one for the thrill rides,” His bass voice cooed. Marcello approached again, hesitantly at first, but gaining confidence with each step, walking up behind Kalina. One hand lightly brushed down her back along the scratches, feeling the raised welts with a gentle touch only an artist could ever muster. ”You've got some guts, you know. Are you a pack wolf?”

She laughed as the wolf shook his wet fur off right on her and she stuck her tongue out at Marcello as he walked away. Then turning back to the water she looked out at the vast ocean and sighed. When he touched her she was surprised, her muscles tensed but soon relaxed at his light touch...a touch that made her skin tingle. When he asked if she was a pack wolf she shook her head, "Not yet, I move around too much for that right now" Kalina answered. She had thought of joining her cousins pack if they would accept her but then she also was considering Brico's family pack, so until she decided she was stuck with no pack and honestly she sort of liked it that way. "I haven't learned your name yet stranger, I'm Kalina." she said as she turned to face him, not realizing how close he was until she turned and they were almost touching.

"I thought as much," He mused. Upon moving to Carpe Noctum Marcello had stuck his nose around here and there to get the local pack information. From the scents there were around three pretty solid packs, and even under the wash of salt water Kalina didn't quite smell like any of them. Kalina the epsilon.
Marcello had been thinking about the foreign sound of her name when she turned around to face him. They were nearly chest to chest at that point, and he could pick out each individual eyelash on her face with how close he was. Under normal circumstances he wouldn't have done anything to remedy that. But both of them were clad in nothing but a couple of soaked undergarments, and although the she-wolf didn't seem to be concerned over personal space before, he gave it to her reluctantly. Marcello yielded back a step without faltering his expression. His empty fingers drifted up to brush a lock of wet hair back behind her ear- an imitation of the gesture she had done not long ago. Let her make of it what she would, when he wasn't even entirely sure what it meant.
"My name is Marcos Mendes," Marcello informed happily. It was closer to the truth than he had been with Bells. He wasn't sure why he didn't fudge his last name this time, but a whim bent his will into doing it. "My parents were very cruel people in that department, evidently. Where I came from, before I moved here, people nicknamed me the "Chupacabra". Do you know what that means?" A wry smile twisted his lips. This was one of his favorite questions- a real ice breaker.

"We share the same last name I see." Kalina said with a small smile. Then she placed her hands on her hips and looked at him carefully when he asked her if she knew what Chupacabra meant. "The translation is goat sucker, but seeing as you are a werewolf too I assume that you killed more than just goats." she said, hinting that perhaps he had killed humans too. Running her fingers through her wet hair she backed up to the edge of the cliff and without waiting for his response to his answer she stepped back off the edge. Falling quickly to the water and sinking beneath the surface. This time she knew how the current would be so she stayed clear of the rocks and swam out of the way.

'And smart to boot, isn't she?' At least the thought of human killing didn't make her squeamish. He partially hoped they could go hunting together one day, maybe share a lovely meal of 40 something year old man, so long as he was able to get his choice bits. But then again, he might yield over the heart if she so desired. This made him chuckle. 'Oh, you devil you. Don't get ahead of yourself.'
His feet found her path. It was easier the second time, the rush of water felt less overwhelming, although he still had to work his muscles quite a bit to fight the tide tugging him toward the rocks. Somewhere in the rush of bubbles he glimpsed brown hair. Marcello waved in that direction before kicking his feet to break the surface. When he broke it, he looked for the familiar face among the froth of crests. "I don't supposed you jumped to get away from me, did you? If my diet offends you that much, you only need to say so." The werewolf winked to show that he was teasing. He had to shout to be heard over the crashing of waves. "Maybe I'll make you next on my menu instead!" Marcello dove under water, his body popping out of sight. When it was visible again he was even closer to Kalina. A tongue swept over his teeth. "Do you think you can beat me to the overhang, shark bait? That is, before I get you?"

She smirked some as he teased her about his diet of sorts. Then we he proposed a challenge to see he would reach the overhang first she grinned. "I am so going to kick your *ss." Kalina said, then she slipped beneath the surface and used Marcellos body as a wall, pushing herself off of him with her feet to help her get closer to the overhang. Resurfacing she looked back at him before taking off swimming towards the winning destination. Kalina could be quite competitive and like any woman she hated to lose. Kalina worked her muscles hard, pushing them to their limit as she fought the current, getting closer to the overhang with each stroke.

He had to admit, she was faster than he originally thought. As soon as her body bobbed under the surface Marcello was hot on her heels, ducking underneath the waves to avoid a breaking crest. Marcello kicked to send him in the direction of the overhang. It was good, but not enough, and he knew right then and there that his chances of beating her there were slipping as far away as she was. The time had come aside to set sportsmanship off the table. He pooled his energy into shortening the amount of water between them until he was merely an arms reach away. With a short lunge Marcello reached forward and wrapped his hand around her ankle, pulling her backward. He wasn't sure how long he could hold it. The water made his grip slippery.
"I got'cha, sweat heart." Marcello belted triumphantly. He pulled his arm back again, brushing up against her leg. His body began to move past her. "You haven't won yet!"

She choked on some water for a second when she was pulled back by her ankle, regaining herself she let out a growl and reached out for him. Her hands slipping on his wet skin as she pushed forward with her legs. When she was finally able to grab him by his shoulders she pushed him under the water and pushed herself off his shoulders so she was in front of him again. "I'm not going to lose to you." Kalina said when he resurfaced. She turned onto her back and splashed some water out as she laughed some, this guy sure was fun to race but she had no intentions of losing.

Marcello came up spluttering after she had dunked him down. If it were anyone else he might have spat out some curses laced with the sea water, but seeing how he wasn't really mad at her, he kept the verbal retorts pretty mild. Not that he got to say much anyway- just as he was catching his breath he received an onslaught of additional splashes that he had to shield with his arms.
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't play dirty!" He chided halfheartedly. Taking up a mouthful of water, Marcello aimed a fountain of water in her direction. It wouldn't be the last time he was a hypocrit. "We've still got a bit of distance to go. Let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is, if you're so confident. I'll make the first wager." Something coy slid over his eyes. The smile that plastered his face was devillish. "I wager that if I, Marcos Mendes, beat you, Kalina, to the overhang, I get a kiss. Unless too you're scared of losing, of course." Hey, she was pretty. Why not try?

She laughed but when he threw in the bet she grew silent. Brico certainly wouldn't like but he knew she was crazy, besides she wasn't planning on losing. "Don't think my man would like that very much but I accept the wager. If I win....you will owe me a favor, any favor that I ask of you." Kalina said. Now that didn't seem like much but one could never know what the favor would be, in the end it may be something major. Then she sent Marcello one of her dazzling smiles before taking off for the overhang again, she was at the moment ahead of him and she was going to do anything to keep it that way even if she had to play dirty.

Ha, as if it mattered to him that she was spoken for! As far as he was concerned her man could kiss his tail. Marcello, trading confidence for a mild brush of arrogance, was already accepting her wager before she could say it. A favor should be simple. Maybe she'd ask him to get her a pony or something. Girls liked ponies.
"Okay, love, but remember it was you who accepted the deal!" Marcello let the tide sweep him under. He rolled with the current instead of against it, pushing his body through the streams of the tide. Under the dark depths he allowed himself to open his eyes to the sea of salt and, yes, there it was, the underbelly of the overhang met his searching gaze, and he stretched out his arm to brush the rough surface of stone as the tide pushed his body against the jagged surface. His chest did not come out unscathed, but he shot to the surface anyway and threw his wild hair back to shake it from his face. When the wild mane had parted for his vision, Kalina was there. And she was already touching the rock.
Not many things made Marcello incredulous, but this one of those rare things that did, and he let his jaw fall slack for a moment as he clung to the rocky outcropping. He had been almost certain that he had won but... well, there was no but, she had beaten him in the race, and now he found himself in her debt. "I'll be damned," The wolf muttered. Then, with his crimson budded chest vibrating, he laughed. "Well, aren't you something!"

When you see a poll of some sort, then try and take the time to read what it's about and who's allowed to vote. This means in particularly the homecoming polls. They are ONLY for High School characters. So if your character isn't a high school student then DO NOT VOTE!!!! Thank you.
Splashing Colours in the Chat

It is now possible to get your name in your favourite colour, as long they don't get too close to Katie, Susie and Kat's (when she's got her colour coded). Anything in a lighter shade or in a completely different colour is possible. All you have to do is send me a PM with a colour code and I will change it asap.
New Admin

Kat has announced that she'll be moving to the Philippines to study and because of that we have announced Katie as our third admin, so I'm not completely alone and Kat can concentrate on her studies. Kat will of course try and be on as much as she can after she's moved. So if something is burning in here, then you can now ask Katie for help as well.

If you haven't voted for the monthly polls yet then you can still do it. Remember that you can use as many of your characters you want to vote with as long you don't vote for one of your own characters. You can find them here. The polls will close June 1. Furthermore we have two homecoming polls. So let your high school characters vote for who should be homecoming king and queen. The polls closes 9 June, you can find them in the event board.
